So 2 questions, if you can help?

1. Can it be controlled just from a remote on a key fob a la webasto (my FFRR S/C did this, had a petrol FBH and it controlled the HVAC as well)

2. If not then yep, giff gaff but what is the exact list of parts to order from the website?

Thanks Diskostew (or anyone else for that matter)

Thumbs Up

I don't think the Danhag has a 'plip' option as well as the GSM. If you want both options then BAS is the one for you (but no HVAC option, it'll be FBH only).

If you want Danhag then you should get their GSM Controller (W-bus version) and the Landrover IPCU unit (that will control your HVAC and comes with the necessary wiring harness).

You may also need an FBH wire from the shop here depending on your own Disco.

There are many guys here with knowledge going back to the group buy - hopefully they can confirm what I have just said.

Can anyone confirm if I should be setting my unit up as W-Bus 3 or W-Bus 4 below when setting up the SMS configuration on the Danhag site:

30 Output signal /
Heater Type
(Sh.-Typ)
0: Park heater
1: +12V
2: Ground
3: W-Bus
4: W-Bus PRO

The unit Danhag have sent to me is not called 'PRO' any longer, simply 'W-Bus' but i'm thinking it is the same thing. It definately i8sn't the 'Basic' GSM unit.

Any help on whether to set it up as either option 3 or 4 would be gratefully received from the Danhag users out there. Bow down

Kind regards,

Darren Thumbs Up

Thanks gents Thumbs Up

last question (for a while anyway), is there any particular climate setting I need to leave the car in before I switch it off to ensure the cabin blows warm air the following morning? (last attempt I made would only blow cold air through the cab fans even though the FBH was seriously hot and had been running for a good 20 minutes before the fans even kicked in.

Cheers,

Darren

DanHag / Car Chief - Removing the GSM Unit

A while back I realised that if you have to remove the GSM unit for any length of time and you want to remove the IPCU-Module as well then the climate control is probably going to throw all sorts of errors because of the various cables that were cut through during the install.

- I've put the wiring diagram in my gallery :

So, I e-mailed Danielle over at Danhag in Berlin and they VERY KINDLY sent me a pcb-side connector :

I'm going to solder it onto a bit of vero-board and try and find a nice box to put it in.
That way there is no danger of a short circuit - it's going to hang around behind the dash for a while probably......

If anybody is interested I can get more of these connectors - if there's enough interest the price is going to be really low.

Let me know.

When the IPCU-Module fails......

Hello everyone,

A couple of weeks ago I noticed that I wasn't getting any heating inside the car even if I turned up the dials to full.

It took a couple of hours of searching - because I'd completely forgotten that the DanHag IPCU-module was installed (I had removed the GSM unit over a year ago).

One thing that I hadn't noticed is that the PROG lamp didn't blink and the blowers activate for a while when I started the car.....

Don't forget, if you want to remove the IPCU-Module completely you will have to bridge/short the wires in the connector to restore the original wiring again.

PS: You will need to reset the FBH because it will be locked-out and won't start even after you have fixed the cable problems.

Stay warm!

Have you installed a bridge to restore it or put the vehicle wiring back to original?

It is easy to bridge the (yellow and green) and (blue and purple) wires in the IPCU connector of the DanHag wiring loom using solid copper wires.
(see the wiring diagrams in my gallery).

I was intending to put a specially made bridge using a "proper" connector (see my gallery) - but I couldn't find the connector.......
(Since then I found it hiding in the garage - but it's too late now).
