good luck mate - bloody bad luck. Censored them. Everytime I take my car for service and one of them drives it - i dread what happend to you. You should really come down hard on them, if the DP gives you trouble, insist on going way over his head.

I see this morning a Russian billionaire is putting a bet in for LR.

You tell that LR dealership that there is new way to solve problem. You will call on Yuri, he got a few friends to pay visit – da – kanjeshna !!!. Sorry - 4 years in Russia after fall of wall does this to you.

OK, we have clarity on the process.
In South Africa, the way it works is:

I have to claim on my vehicle insurance, my insurance company will then recover the damages plus my excess from LandRover's public liability insurance, and will not damage my no-claim status or premiums.

Strange, but true, at least according to my insurance co.

If you are ever in this predicament, ensure you speak to your insurance company first, though....

That sounds a bit clearer. The thing with matters like this is that even though the car is repaired it will always affect a possible resale - how many times have you seen adverts for cars that have not been involved in accidents? You never get compensation for that lose!

Well, that's always the question isn't it?

In this situation, there's always some long-term cost. But considering the offroad mileage we've done, I think we are stuck with the vehicle for life anyway.

The dealer has offered a Freelander TD4 for my wife to drive while the D3 is being fixed, but seeing as my insurance covers a rental (and my wife is not keen on an old Freelander), this would not be required.

Just make sure you never buy a car from me!

Actually funny that you mention that. This morning as I was leaving the dealer I saw a lowbed with my old Disco2TD5 on it......(reg starts with NNS)
Apparently the gent who bought it is not very happy.

Maybe it's just not a good idea to buy a used car anyway, regardless of the make.

Front end is a bit truncated, and the bonnet is creased, but it looks like the A-bar absorbed most of the energy. I spoke to the owner of the other vehicle (Subaru Forester I think it was), and apparently there is quite a lot of damage to the rear end, despite the fact that my D3 hit him on the towbar. R60k + for the repairs......even though its mostly plastic bits.

They pulled up their shoulders and said they dont accept responsabillity because some stupid reason Big Cry Has anyone had a window replacement and problems after that, please e-mail me at dbs@gc.co.za I think the window was not replaced correctly and it started a fire.
