Dealers Going Bust
Heard a rumour that Stratstones have announced a £30 million loss and will be closing some dealerships down. Also a dealer called Greens has closed. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Thats not good. No matter what their service or attitude is like, it will still be real folk who end up unemployed with uncertain futures. There will be a lot of high profile lay-offs over the coming months which is sad to see.

Everywhere is having a bad time, my group are 60% down on sales to the automotive sector at present and the outlook is worse.

Like you Andrew, I've also heard Stratstones are unlikely to be bothering the Land Rover buying public in the not too distant future. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Greens statement includes “We will operate without a showroom for a while" guess the implication is that they won't miss it for a while either... Cheers

There are rumours aplenty around the trade regarding three or four of the big groups having to lose some of their luxury branded sites to keep their banks happy.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

So why not list the 'other groups' by name as well???
How do you think Stratstone employee's (sp!!) feel reading that??
Not having a dig, but to make a statement on an open forum pointed at one dealer group, imho aint right

Probably better than I felt last week when I found myself out of work with no notice
And why name Stratstones? I was responding to an earlier post in this thread that specificially mentioned them.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
