So why not list the 'other groups' by name as well???

How do you think Stratstone employee's (sp!!) feel reading that??

Not having a dig, but to make a statement on an open forum pointed at one dealer group, imho aint right

Its all over the news not just here. And there is loads more. Just passing one the unfortunate info.

I doubt Stratstone employees read the forum.

If they did they would probably have improved their customer service and be in better shape.

My local dealer is having a mini sales boom at the moment... but then they provide great customer service and are not just after a quick sale.

Like you Andrew, I've also heard Stratstones are unlikely to be bothering the Land Rover buying public in the not too distant future. Confused

I've had 2 phone calls a week from my local Stratstoneasking if they can service my D3, or did I realise it was due for a service now. Asked the last 2 times that they didn't phone me again, so what happens ---- I get a letter today offering to do my D3 Service ...

I feel sorry for some of the dealers to be honest, even the good one's are suffering at the moment, which can't be nice coming upto Christmas.

Hopefully things will even out next year. It is annoying how much influence over the economy the media has, they talk people into recession.

When I hark back to the snide 'gangster style' treatment I received from the S***tstones DP , Service Manager, and Workshop Manager (who incidentally, had not a clue about the vehicles they sell / service / 'fix', etc ), I find it hard to feel sorry for the likes of them. But yes, the good dealerships I do have sympathy for, and continue to support those, at the drop of a hat.

Not sure it's a Stratstone knocking thread. I think all dealership reviews that are posted and comments are based on personal experience.

I personally have had bad dealings with them, and after a call from them yesterday morning touting for business for my service and MOT I relayed my reasons for not coming back to them since early 2006. Not hiding in a forum but speaking to the person and telling my poor mannered experiences.

In life good manners cost nothing, but bad manners can cost a lot over time.

I did not realise until today that Evans Halshaw were also part of that big umbrella, and I now see the similarities in business ethic as the wife has had poor dealings with them in the same vane with her Scenic.

HBF - If we never named dealers, that would mean that if I had had good service from Yeovil or terrible service from Stratstones then only I would know. Less important for good service, but why should we all suffer poor service in silence.

In relation to this thread, if they are suffering then that's unfortunate and not good on the individuals - but I'm sure that as you can see - it's all over the media Thumbs Up

90 BHP - I agree that the good & bad dealers need to be named to help people select where they take their business, in that vain dependent on the service i receive from my current dealer (which has currently been poor) over a few warranty isues then i maybe naming in the bad!

Thats not saying that others may have had good service there, but you have to speak as you find!

I know from someone that works for Stratstones that BMW terminated/did not renew there head franchise agreement earlier this year, which is why many BMW Stratstone dealers have closed or changed hands - it was rumoured that a couple of other marques might do the same.

I received a letter from Stratstones recently that went along the lines of "as someone who has purchase an LR from us before, did you plan to buy one in '09? Our allocation from LR will be a lot less this year" - didn't say if it was SS or LR decision - "so if you want one let us know now so we can reserve one of our allocation for you." The positive in me says good thinking, the negative thinks something far more cycnical.

And I can confirm several SS sites read this forum, even if only a couple (Bury for instance) actually post.

Media must be influencing the whole world at the moment then!

I do think they've managed to make a mountain out of a molehill as they often do but my view is that more blame has to attach to the grabbing barstewards in the City than the Media.

I have justifiably knocked Stratstones for breaking or damaging things, however I do accknowledge that even at the Wolverhampton site there are a number of ex Bushbury guys and girls who are very good, honest and I hope for there sake things get sorted out. The last thing anyone want is it to reopen next April as a Kia dealer.

I doubt the suits in the head office who set the times, rates and policies will be in danger of loosing there jobs.
