I have seen this a lot in Nissan diesel and while it will perform a regeneration it does not fix the problem.
The DPF can be clean but the pipes to the sensor are still blocked.
If you can get the pipes of at the sensor end try blowing down them with and airline ( watch out if they are blocked might blow back some pool at you). Depending on the shape you might get a wire down and clear them. But establish the pipes are clear before condemning the sensor.

yes, only the catalyst. And 5H270 is the DPF behind the catalyst.
Many other car companies have the catalyst and DPF in one housing. (it´s better)

When blanking is it necessary to remove both the dpf and the catalyst?
By the way I have emptied the dpf but not touched the Cat. Did not even know there was a Cat.
Seems to work though!!!

My Mechanic took the DPF out and it was completly clogged. They left in some kind of chemical bath over night and used hot water or something and now it is fine again. Readings are okey and it drives as it should with out any fault codes.
There is some debate about whether there is any use in cleaning it. My engine was completly rebuilt 20.000 km ago. Been run on the wrong oil since, and the turbo was replaced 15.000 km ago. So I sort of reckon that the faulty turbo or wrong oil clogged it. So I will drive it a couple of thousand km and se if it behaves before any drastic new measures.

Hello Marius, these are good news.
Could you please check the differential pressure at various speeds again and post them here.
I´m very interested on this after you have cleaned the DPF.
Further it would be nice if you can find out the name of the chemic which your mechanic had used.
And the oil consumption of your engine is interesting for me.

Yes, I will post the readings tomorrow. Dont have a change to check before then.
regarding oil consumption, I will check. I know mine had used about 2,5l since the last oil service about 22.000 km ago. (I know that is to long for a service). That is abour 1 liter pr 10.000 km, which is okey I guess, Some on the forum say their cars dont use any oil, others say they check every 1.000 km (600 miles). I have changed the oil and filter to the correct dpf oil, and will drive it 1000 km and check.

Yes, I also read about Discos which uses less less oil.
I guess an other oil which produces less ashes is nothing compared with the amount of Diesel you use on a distance of 10.000km.
1L oil and about 1.000L to 1.200L of Diesel will be burned in the cylinders in this time. So I think a good quality fuel is more important.

yeah... that didnt work. picked up the car and got 750 meters before p244b dpf full etc.
So now the dpf is being cut out. This is annoying to a degree where I am about to sell the car. But I will try the dpf delete instead

???? you wrote a day ago that the car is driving fine and all pressure readings are good. And now 750m further it is clogged????
I think you need a professional for cleaning the DPF.

Or there is another issue instead. What are the reading of the differential pressure now?

Well its not as clogged as it was. Picked it up yesterday: Everything in order. Today it limped after 750 meters. Better, but kinda same pressure readings as before. Deleted the fault code and didnt come back, but not a very positive person, so I drove it back to the garage. My mechanic is a guy I have used for 10 years, and he knows Jaguars and Land Rovers extremly well. I have no doubt he is skilled, and he is very kind on my bills. Will ask them to check the wires, because it seems strange it being clogged so fast after being taken out, cleaned out with chemicals and hot water and put back. It drove splendid for about 25km. But no. Still .
But I am having a kid in 6 weeks, and my girldfriend has laid possession on my tdv8 L322, so I need the D3 to be sorted now. So leaning heavely towards dpf delete. Because this is .

From what i know, after chemical washing of the DPF you need to reset the differential pressure sensor by an IIDTOOL, i did the same procedure on mine and a few days after washing the DPF the warning on the center display pop up again, a call to Gap guided me on the Tool to perform the DPF sensor reset without issues in the next 4 years.
Make sure to have the latest firmware on the tool to reach the procedure

There seems to be a solution to all this madness now.
First, the dpf was in no sense cleaned. It needed four more rounds. But it is cleared now. My Mechanic was not impressed with himself. But he is a great guy and I am happy this seems to be resolved.
BUT
the fault seems to be a faulty gasked between the cat and the exhaust. According to my mechanic that leads to the dpf now being able to regenerate at all. New gasket arrives on monday and then we will see if he is correct! Adviced to not drive the car until it is fixed, so report will follow on monday
