| Drop down Dvd player non functional |

Hi all
Just picked up a 2007 D3 Metropolis with the fitted drop down dvd player. Unfortunately there is no remote control to operate it, but the unit buttons also dont do anything. The lights work on the side and when the screen lowers the landrover logo displays. Put a dvd inside and it reads and plays the dvd, but the buttons do nothing....won't stop, fast forward or eject. The only way I have managed to eject the disc is by pressing the rest button
Other than buying a remote, any suggestions as to why the units buttons don't work. There is power going to them as they light up). Is there a parental lock on these things?
