Egg rationing
Supermarkets are now rationing eggs owing to supply difficulties.
What I don't understand is who buys eggs in bulk? It's not like they have an indefinite shelf life like toilet rolls (nor are they as important to modern life as toilet rolls). So why is there a need to ration them?
Are people really going out and buying two dozen eggs "just in case"?
It's eggstremely annoying.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Eggsaperating I would say! It's no yolk.... think it's the bird flu thingy that's limiting supplies... although that said it's being dealt very well round here... I mean putting signs next the road is really going to help stop the spread... the field next to the sign was full of Canada geese (or maybe they had seen the sign and stayed out of the area?)
I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

There was a farmer on our local news who was saying that there wasn't a shortage particularly in supply but it was more that the supermarkets weren't paying the price the farmers needed.
We try and get eggs from local sources where possible.Today is the oldest you've been and the youngest you'll ever be again.

My brother has three sons, when all three were teenagers and still at home he'd have 30 eggs a week delivered. Very often he'd still have to buy more from the shop. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Itβs a combination of reason. Mostly to do with costs. The cost to keep, feed these layers is increasing dramatically and is not being recouped in the sale of eggs.Simple eggonomics..Its not the height of the fall but the sudden stop at the bottom that hurts!!

I'm just confused as to why people are suddenly feeling the need to bulk buy eggs. I guess it's the old "there's a shortage so must buy eggs!" response.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk
