Been shopping twice in last week, bought eggs on one visit, but shelves pretty bare by us, probably about 10-15% of what they are normally. You can still get eggs but may have limited choice if you want your 'usual brand', etc.
No doubt the 'bog-roll-morons' will soon be trawling each of the supermarkets buying up their allowance of 2-3 boxes at a time until they have too many and find themselves chucking half of them away in a fortnight

No doubt someone will blame him for the egg shortage Its not the height of the fall but the sudden stop at the bottom that hurts!!

I normally get a dozen eggs a week from a friend that keeps chickens. This week I only got 9, the chickens weren’t laying particularly well apparently.

I actually had an 'official final warning' off Facebook last week over chickens/eggs.
A friend had posted a picture of one of her chickens saying not laying many eggs as "she doesn't like the cold, wet, weather"
I made a response saying wet weather was better than the potential other consequences of being a chicken. Friend responded with a laugh emoji, etc.
A few hours later I got the warning off FB for; inciting hatred and violence
I 'appealed' against the decision only to be informed that all their staff were too busy 'due to covid' (that old ballcock...) to investigate my appeal and therefore the warning was upheld and I'd better watch my step in future, etc, etc.

Crazy thought police morons.
When we had chickens, I named then to ensure they knew the alternative to laying eggs dependably. Potpie, Tetrazzini, Nugget, Biscuit, and so on. Seemed to work.

This is an interesting point from a farmer
When you are dead, you do not know you are dead. All of the pain is felt by others. The same thing happens when you are stupid.

It’s a combination of reason. Mostly to do with costs. The cost to keep, feed these layers is increasing dramatically and is not being recouped in the sale of eggs.Simple eggonomics..
What I said. Its not the height of the fall but the sudden stop at the bottom that hurts!!
