No UK spec D3's were fitted with dpf's.
Unless yours is an import, I would suggest you get a second opinion from a different garage.
New gearbox & TC, 3 x front wheel bearings, belts changed, new oil pump, new battery, new rear prop, new front prop, new front diff, front arb refurbed, front cv boot kit, egr blank and BAS software patch, full rear suspension / drivelive rebuild, new front arms, LED trailer light fix, split charge.
Never had a 107, 90 or 127, but have had most of the rest!

If you want to drop me your VIN, I’ll confirm if you have DPF or not. I can blank/update your D3 also and have done many many many of these. Bodsys Brake Bible

I've recently been informed that a software patch to command the valves to stay closed is all thats required and blanking doesnt need to be carried out
Can anyone share any light on this? Discovery3 TDV6 GS

May well work if the valves will shut and shut tight. But the amount of crud in them, and the abrasive effect of very hot gasses rushing past them for the last 10 years will make that pretty unlikely in my opinion.
And then what about the butterfly on the throttle intake? That will still need dealing with. New gearbox & TC, 3 x front wheel bearings, belts changed, new oil pump, new battery, new rear prop, new front prop, new front diff, front arb refurbed, front cv boot kit, egr blank and BAS software patch, full rear suspension / drivelive rebuild, new front arms, LED trailer light fix, split charge.

Yup, the bodge way of doing it is to make sure you fix the faulty EGRs before writing them closed....
why bother spending the money to fix knackered EGRs and then paying again to bodge them out s beyond me.
Properly blanked and centre butterfly valve removed is the only method you should consider imho.... Bodsys Brake Bible

You are definitely correct there and thanks for the reply
So in the correct order, it would be blank first then patch. Discovery3 TDV6 GS

I blanked them in the morning, and applied the software patch in the afternoon.
Probably best to find a time when Pete from Bell Auto Services is online - I had to do a pump reset not mentioned in any write-ups, and his help and experience solved it in no time. New gearbox & TC, 3 x front wheel bearings, belts changed, new oil pump, new battery, new rear prop, new front prop, new front diff, front arb refurbed, front cv boot kit, egr blank and BAS software patch, full rear suspension / drivelive rebuild, new front arms, LED trailer light fix, split charge.

Big thanks to Bodsy, drove down to sunny South Wales on Thursday to blank off my EGRs and do the necessary with the remapping. Noticed the difference immediately, very happy. Too early to comment on any mpg gains, only time and the heaviness of my right boot will tell.
Thanks again Ian.
Cheers, Simon.

Hi could some one advised me on my egr value. Do I need to remove old egr and blank them off or can I just plug this egr emulator?

Thanks
Plenty of places will do it at a price but will write on receipt that they are not responsible for failing MOTs etc.
Check out the guides on here and do it yourself
