FFRR Autobiography

Just been offered £36000.00 against above which is two years old in December (as mine is D4 HSE). The RR has a number of extras in addition to the normal Auto spec. That means £10K to change? Very tempted but need some thoughts from you guy to convince me I'm doing the right/wrong thing... Surprised Confused Confused

Are we talking about £10,000 to upgrade a 1 year old D4 HSE to a 2 year old TDV8 FFRR Autobiography???

Don't get me wrong, I love the D4 and sometimes think that the FFRR is somewhat "pompous", but for 10 grand I don't think I'd hesitate for even one second. I'd go for the FFRR Thumbs Up

But.....the price difference seems too cheap Question Could the FFRR really have depreciated by that much in just two years?

against the grain

despite what has been said above, i would stick witht he D4, unless it is a 4.4ltr version, then i may be tempted.
also, have you considered running costs, and more to the point, future loss due to depreciation?

if you posed the same question to my wife, she would not doubt say yes.

have ou considered trading for a 2012 D4?
 Cheers

You will not find a 4.4 Autobiography for less than about £80k at the moment - they are in high demand and quite a different story from a two year old 3.6 worth mid forties!

Thanks for all the replies. My D4 is two years and 24K old. I declined based on the fact I wasn't keen on the engine and I really do need better economy due to relocating. I was pleased with the offer of effectively £37K trade in. However as economy is now a priority I am about to buy a BMW 520M Touring. They (BMW) have offered me £36800.00 for the D4 only leaving an £8k change price. That includes a lot of toys and servicing for 5 years or 60K. Am very sad to see the back of the D4 which has been a fantastic car to own and only lost approx. £13k in two years. Will put the D4 in the FS section in case anyone on here is interested.

Thanks again all.... Big Cry

is that 37k plus 8k to trade to a 520d..? That strikes me as a lot to pay for a base model. The 530 must be pushing 50k too.

GBP/Euro FX rate perhaps.

The BMW has the base engine but ticks all the other boxes for me at this time. It has a very high specification and great fuel economy together with the practicality of an estate. The total cost of the new car was £46K and I paid £7K to change. Not to bad after two years and 24K Thumbs Up

Re the question about the 2012 D4 - I would wait for the new car currently in development which will be much lighter with a new more economical engine. Granted thats approx. 2/3 years away but just about right for when I trade the BMW Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
