Well looks like it's bye-bye to Guava. Was phoning round down sauff dealers for a price for the BBBS (Big Bill Belt Service) and their price is too eye watering. They won't match Wimbledon's price which is Ā£315 less. Mind you neither will GS which is Ā£425 more. They were a good for enthusiasts back in the day but sadly no more IMHO. Sad days.

Give Moore Automotive a call, they're in Lynne, just around the corner from where Conrico were based and
have picked up much work this area.
They used to look after my D2 so I can recommend them.

Just phoned them, they are pretty much on a par with Wimbledon.

I was thinking of using Moore Automotive. Are you going with Wimbledon then?
What prices were you quoted for the 7 year then?

Re Wimbledon, don't know yet, not sure which end of the country I'll be in but if I'm down south at the right time probably. They were Ā£1,150 incl VAT plus tensioners if needed, Moore was Ā£1,100 + VAT, I think that included tensioners but was a bit vague. Guava Inchcape quoted Ā£1,463 and GSTD Ā£1,574, with poss "a little" discount available but certainly not Ā£424 off.

Wimbledon are very good indeed. Switched to them after over 10 years with GSTD. Just couldnāt take any more of their increasing incompetence. A great shame as some nice people there.
Very happy with Wimbledon so far.

Good to know.
Been juggling my schedule and going to get her booked in to Wimbledon mid(ish) May for service and MOT. MOT will be just before the new regime kicks in. It's about 8 miles from home up the A3 and an easy train ride back (saving SWMBO a trip). Will report back.

Prices are reasonable and certainly less than GSTD. Also car is washed etc without scratches and all the hinges are greased, never got that before. They are a Land Rover authorised service centre so all warranty and extended warranty stuff dealt with.

Nice
I cant decide what to do at the moment. I haven't had any prices yet for either Wimbo or Moore in Chertsey, but im struggling with the service centre vs Indy route.
My D4 is coming up to 90K now, and is next due its 8 year service in May.
I think I need someone who will be proactive and realistic with maintenance as the car ages. I will need for example some brake pipes replacing as they have been an MOT advisory. Cant decide who is best doing that work.
I still have the dealer rate WD warranty, so that type of work isn't a problem. Car currently has full LR history.

Is about 8 miles from me so just chug is the A3 & off just after B&Q for me so no problem. Then get the train back to Oxshott from Wimbledon Chase via Wimbledon so pretty easy. SWMBO did suggest I ran back from there as part of my training but I just gave her that look.
