I’ve had the mObridge M2.Connect system in my D3 for now for a few years. I use it every day both for talking on the phone and listening to music/podcasts/etc. I’ve had an iPhone 6 Plus and an iPhone XR connect to it, no issues whatsoever. I wrote a review a long time ago here, you’ll find it with the search.

Yes, it is not the cheapest alternative. I’m very satisfied with it and would buy one again.
