Is there a GOOD Bluetooth Option for a Discovery 3?
I am really not having a lot of luck with Bluetooth at the moment.
I reallt HATE Parrot devices, I installed a MKI9200 into the Discovery 3 and managed to drop the screen while installing it and it broke the LCD, I then bought a replacement screen and the bloody valco that held it in place is beyond rubbish and the thing fell down and just lightly touched the plastic work and broke again, two screens down and managed to locate a second hand one which at least was a little cheaper, but on connecting this it worked for a day and then came up with 'Hardware Error', and after contacting Parrots easlly support I was told that theu no longer support this product and I would have to purchase a completely new unit.
So have now ripped out the parrot but need to find a better alternitive.
I do notlistern to music on my phone at all, and just need it to nake and recive calls...
Can anyone suggest a good alternative? which is a little bit nore reliable.
Kind Regards
James

You list tour car as a D4 HSE, I am not an expert on D4s but are you sure your car hasn't already got Bluetooth phone connectvity. A D4 HSE should have it.

Your car is listed as a D4, I though you might have posted in the wrong forum, it happens, what spec D3 is it? Does it have an Aux plug at the rear of the centre console between seats? If it does you ould try something like this, i use this for my music streaming and it works brilliantly, it will of course just do bluetooth phone.

I have just bought two Disco 3's and you can only seem to list one car under the profiles so I list my main car which is a Discovery 4, these two are for off-road use.
They are both HSE's and both have the Aux port but no Bluetooth Phone system fitted.

James,
What year and does it have the red and green phone buttons on the RHS of the steering wheel. Wiggs is a good start on the Bluetooth stuff.

What I listed will do the trick, plug it into the Aux port and the cigarette lighter, then run the cable between the seat and centre console, I have mine positioned on the flat removable plate just behind the park brake.David

Parky 63 - No both do not have the phone buttons fitted.
David - Will this device automatically switch the audio from the radio to the phone if the phone rings?

Used something similar in my pathfinder, it acts just like a Bluetooth headset but sends it out though aux input for the stereo... So yes it switches between music and call

Don't listern to music except on the radio so I take it that it will not automatically switch fro Radio to Aux and back again.
I need something that is like the parrot but just built better.
It's just a shame you cannot buy the Land Rover Bluetooth Module for these cars, well not for a reasonable price anyway, but may have toi try and hunt two sets down.

As there are some D4 experts in the house
Can you answer calls and hang up using the touch display ?
Eg if you don’t have red green buttons on wheel
Edit. Seam to be buttons on right of display for this

A D4 phone module fitted in a D3 is unbeatable, even better than when fitted in a D4 IMHO, Parrot are rubbish in comparison, Wiggs is your man if he’s still in business It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

We use to install them on my former job as IT manager in government utility and emergency vehicles who needed to be in business 24x7 365 days a year... Bury’s were the only ones who lasted year after year..Best regards
