If it helps, I took some photos when I replaced the seals and sump on mine.
You'll have to scroll down a bit and then on to the next page but hopefully you'l find it useful.
Cheers and Happy Christmas!

Thanks, what a detailed journey!
I intend to do it in a different way, buy sawing the previous sump tube and then put a shorter version.

Hi All
Today is the d-day!
One question I haven't sorted out.
I've bought this metal & separated filter conversion kit :

For the blue paper seal, with what should I seal it? Is transfer oil, copper grease or other ok?
Thanks a million.Serial Land Lover - (3 Defenders, 8 Range Rovers, 2 Freelanders, 4 D3s... to be continued)

I wouldn’t use those suggestions. Be wet before u start !
I use white rtv on one side. More to keep it in place white u install.
Can put a bit on the other side if u wish.
They tend to leak a little, so be interested in other opinions

ok great, did that, the paper seal seems in place
next problem
I can't close the low part of the box, there seems to be a gap generated by the filter
do you know if any of theses 4 feet need to be trimmed ?
it looks like I have only 2 holes

You mean you can’t screw the sump on ?
I would contact the supplier.
Lube the filter seal , so it goes in (up) as far as possible

No, the sump doesn't need to be screwed, just the under tray that closes the gearbox.
It looks like the sump, maybe with 2 of its small feets that don't have corresponding holes, may be creating some gap preventing the under tray to close properly.
Or maybe it's something completely different.Serial Land Lover - (3 Defenders, 8 Range Rovers, 2 Freelanders, 4 D3s... to be continued)

And by the way the kit is directly made by ZF, not brit part or another brand.Serial Land Lover - (3 Defenders, 8 Range Rovers, 2 Freelanders, 4 D3s... to be continued)

I think I have found the culpriut but I don't understand how to solve the issue
The small white thing that locks the plug adapter seems to stick out too much.
I can't get it from position 0 to 1
Note that I have broken the small thing circled in red while pushing it :/

so if replacing the connector sleeve. You need to lubricate the O ring seal with oil. Then insert and hammer it home with wood block.
The white locking tab should then slide over easy.
That's when it is in the gearbox

I had a zf connector sleeve but one of the orings (a small one) was in the way
I put the original one
one thing to know is that it's only when you push the sleeve that the locking system comes free...Serial Land Lover - (3 Defenders, 8 Range Rovers, 2 Freelanders, 4 D3s... to be continued)
