Precisely what I did as well.
Not sure if the cooler in the Petrol V8 is different TDV6, but I had no trouble adding 7 litres of Lifegard 6 through the upper cooler line using clear tubing and a funnel. All I had to do was occasionally squeeze the clear tubing to keep the fluid moving, but the whole flush took a little over 30min once all of the lines were connected and I figured out what line was what.
For those with the Petrol V8, the top spigot coming off of the fluid cooler is the outflow from the cooler back to the gearbox. I simply unplugged the rubber line and stuffed 3/8" clear tubing into it and tightened the clamp. This was where I added the new fluid via the funnel. I then attached clear tubing onto the spigot and ran it into a 5 litre container with a lid. No pics, but I cut a hole large enough for the clear tube to fit through the lid, passed the tube through and then put a cable tie around the tube so that the force of the fluid coming out didn't cause the tube to pop out and spray as mentioned by others. I screwed the lid down and then used the clear sight line on the jug to keep an eye on how full it was.
I ran the engine long enough to get 4.5 litres into the jug (15 seconds), then added 5 litres through the funnel. I ran the engine again to get an additional couple litres out of it, and then added the remaining 2 litres for a total of 9 litres. I then did the fluid levelling as per the Shop Manual using my IIDTool to monitor the fluid temps. If you overfill it a little bit when doing the flush, you can avoid having to add fluid during the levelling. I just waited until the fluid hit 31*c and crawled underneath and popped the check plug and let it drain until it was down to a thread coming out (approx 200ml).
I had originally drained 4 litres through the pan but could only add 2 litres back with through the fill plug before it started coming out the hole. Next time I do this, i'll drain the pan and then add fluid solely through the cooler line as adding through fill plug is a pain in the ass. I figure in a years time i'll do this again and it should only take an hour.2005 NAS SE Petrol V8

Just about to contact a recommended gearbox specialist to get the damned thing sorted, then pause! Okay, I'll give this Tranny stuff a shot. Physically I can't tackle the underneath option but I'll have a go under the bonnet. So when I've posted this I'll order the stuff. The thing is, just as I get the idea about disconnecting a hose and squeezing(?) the stuff in which takes a while someone comes along a suggests using a syringe, attaching another bit of hose etc, THEN the next thing I see is a photo of some garden spray device with clear tubing and we're of into the world of hose lengths, internal dimensions and more....I'm old, I've got a drive and a garage full of 'stuff' (why the she insists on keeping that bike that she hasn't ridden in 8 years must be kept 'just in case' beats me...'Dump it, woman FFS!!') Sorry, I digress but I'm pretty sure you'll understand. I mean she won't get rid of anything and I'm the bloody idiot who keeps having to shift it around when I'm trying to have a clear out! Now where was I? Oh yes. Any chance of an idiot's guide? It's the medication you see.............

Experiencing shudder and slip, again. Going for a mega flush tomorrow.
Is it a good idea to add Dr. Tranny immediatly after the flush? Or is the flush with cleaning procedure enough and is adding the stuff a waste of money so I better keep my tube for later when the judder/slip comes back?2017-...: Disco II Td5 auto, 1999, BAS remap, HD TC and auto box Ashcroft, Allisport IC, ACE, 2" lift only coils, BF goodrich KM2 265/70R17, FF front and rear bumper, TF steering guard and tree sliders, nanocom.

Dr Tranny Done...
I was starting to get shudder whilst towing, stuck in traffic and pulling up a hill. This was after a fluid and filter change. Just put a tube of Dr T in this morning, quick drive and it feels even better than before. Towing again this afternoon, will let you know the outcome.
Best Wishes,

An additional tip
I don't know if you guys have done this already, but I found it quite difficult to get at the top cooler hose. If you remove the thick black air box pipe first it makes getting at the top hose a lot easier. However, remember to re-seat the rubber 'washer' correctly onto the intake pipe, otherwise the next time you drive through knee-deep water you could pull water into the engine.. never a good idea that.

Do it at the cooler but not the hose. I assume the hose has a valve in it that stops/slows the fluid flowing back down the hose. No such problem with the cooler itself. Take the hose off the cooler keep it raised get a small piece of spare hose on the cooler pipe and add dr.t straight to the cooler. Goes straight in as quick as you can empty the tube. Put the cooler hose back. Job done. 2 minutes!
Do you mean squirt dr tranny straight down the cooler hose as directed in the picture supplied on this thread.

Yep! 2nd picture on the first page, not in the hose but directly in the cooler with an extra little hose.2017-...: Disco II Td5 auto, 1999, BAS remap, HD TC and auto box Ashcroft, Allisport IC, ACE, 2" lift only coils, BF goodrich KM2 265/70R17, FF front and rear bumper, TF steering guard and tree sliders, nanocom.

I crawled under the gearbox today, didn't fancy that! I got a 50ml syringe a length of earthwire sheathing, took the cooler hose off, fed the sheath/tube into the cooler directly as previously described, poured dr tranny into the syringe and gravity did the rest. 10 minutes!!
I have to say I'm sceptical about these additives but I went out for a drive and I was amazed. No judder and smooth quick gear changes. I'll post a pic tomorrow of the syringe setup.
I will still have a mega flush done with Geoff in the near future for peace of mind.

Pardon hitting up an old thread but can you tell me how has this paned out in the long run?
Thanks
