Would it be useful to have a sticky thread or two in this section (like in the tyres & wheels section) which shows which mobile phones do work with the LR bluetooth unit and which do not. Not saying i am able to start it off with lots of information but with the collective input it should start to form a reasonably accurate picture of what is worth getting and what to avoid.
It might help when people are thinking of upgrading/changing phones etc. & provide a central thread(s) for all issues to be contained within avoiding the need to search and trawl through!

If someone puts together a definitive list I'm sure we could look to do that 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

If this thread showed enough interest in this and the Stickies were then created could people respond on the lines of
"I have a MY06 and a Nokia N95 works without any problems" etc
or "I have MYXX and a XXXXX and cannot get it to work"
And enable the lists to populate that way, just a thought I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

I think the first post should contain a list of phone's that definitely work and that list could be updated. ....otherwise peeps will have to search through a long thread of debate about what does or doesn't work....no? 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I agree that we have to have a thread in order assess what deffo works or not but the ideal would be to end up with that info bullet pointed in the first post. ...surely there is the LR list to start with ?? ...and is there a difference on what works pre- 08 ...07 ...06 only 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I'd have thought you'd need to put what firmware version your phone is running too.... The End

Nick
Last time i checked on the Land Rover Site phone checker, it was not exactly keeping up to date with current phone models, and as we seem to have many gadget freaks on here (myself included) i just wondered whether we might be able to perhaps learn from the experiences of each other as the new models come out, and before Land Rover get round to updating their site information. they may be getting much better with this, in which case i apologise for starting this wild goose chase I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Then there's the problem, of older software versions of the phone modules.
The factory fitted units can be updated via IDS, the aftermarket (Landrover) accessory units need a new module to update them.
I don't think with Landrover Bluetooth & phone technology the list will ever be accurate, there are too many variations.
I have just spent a few hours trying to get a phone which is listed on the list Nick mentioned, to pair correctly. Now paired (after altering about 6 phone settings in the right order & rebooting the phone by removing the sim & battery!!)
You will need a list stating, factory fit / accessory landrover fit. What the software or ecu number of the kit is, what the phone & software version is. Then after all that, the settings on the phone to make it work, (discoverable, trusted, encryption? etc etc.
Regards
Steve
