Slightly off topic, but I wonder if the 3.0 V6 diesel in a friend’s 2013 XF is vulnerable. Any ideas Mikey?
Yes. Though oddly, crank snapping isn't nearly as common as the LR variant...My D3 Build Thread

What the flagnog?!!! I’ve taken a surprisingly large amount of offence over this. It’s a throwback that we can well do without; I thought that this had at least been sorted at least a generation ago. Anyone remember this flak over this?:

On the positive side, William may have a perverse idea of what's appropriate for his role when it comes to cars, but he’s definitely on the right track with his bike

The guys eyesight is failing or has failed, he’s probably been told it’s a new D5 and they’ve peddled him off with an old crank snapping D4 that might last longer than him if it’s lucky.
Doesn't the D5 and the D4 use the exact same V6 diesel?

Do they? If so the dynamics and weight are different.
The AJD V6 is used in the Discovery 4 & Discovery 5 and produces 190 kW (258 PS; 255 hp), 600 N⋅m (443 lbf⋅ft).
Some early D4's used the 2.7 L AJD V6-T (diesel)

Are the V6 Diesel engines in the D5 immune from crank snapping? I thought that the earlier ones were just a single turbo version of what had been used in the D4.
Nope. Same internals as the Gen 1 3.0, and the same engine as in the L405/494 which are still snapping cranks for fun
I thought so.
I’ll ignore the earlier post about D3/4 cranks then.

You have no idea how long it took me to track down one of her with the original Mercedes Then there's the one with the queen and the Scalextric set, but that's definitely one for another day!
It's odd to think that when "Lady" Diana drove a Metro, a Metro was cool! (it was 39 years ago!)
