Yes. Though oddly, crank snapping isn't nearly as common as the LR variant...

So Harry and Meghan aren't just precious about publicity? They're precious about cars too? Sadly Harry hasn't learned much about previous African excursions...

What the flagnog?!!! Censored I’ve taken a surprisingly large amount of offence over this. It’s a throwback that we can well do without; I thought that this had at least been sorted at least a generation ago. Anyone remember this flak over this?:

On the positive side, William may have a perverse idea of what's appropriate for his role when it comes to cars, but he’s definitely on the right track with his bike Thumbs Up Very Happy

The guys eyesight is failing or has failed, he’s probably been told it’s a new D5 and they’ve peddled him off with an old crank snapping D4 that might last longer than him if it’s lucky. Whistle

Doesn't the D5 and the D4 use the exact same V6 diesel?

The AJD V6 is used in the Discovery 4 & Discovery 5 and produces 190 kW (258 PS; 255 hp), 600 N⋅m (443 lbf⋅ft).

Some early D4's used the 2.7 L AJD V6-T (diesel)

Probably best not to search the internet for images of a Mercedes and her...

When she got engaged her daily ride was a Metro. Now that is selfless dedication to the British car industry. Of course, her daily ride varied a lot as time went on.

Are the V6 Diesel engines in the D5 immune from crank snapping? I thought that the earlier ones were just a single turbo version of what had been used in the D4.

Nope. Same internals as the Gen 1 3.0, and the same engine as in the L405/494 which are still snapping cranks for fun Rolling Eyes

I thought so. Thumbs Up

I’ll ignore the earlier post about D3/4 cranks then.

You have no idea how long it took me to track down one of her with the original Mercedes Shocked Then there's the one with the queen and the Scalextric set, but that's definitely one for another day! Rolling Eyes

It's odd to think that when "Lady" Diana drove a Metro, a Metro was cool! Shocked (it was 39 years ago!)

Is that when Charles got his magnificent Hampton Court?

"When you said you'd show me your Prince Albert, I thought you meant your great-great-great-grandfather, not a quick flash of that thing...".

"Creme Egg McFlurries spotted back on the menu at the Windsor McDonalds drive-through".

"If I hadn't had gone for a British car, I'd have gone for something a bit smaller than a VW Golf: James Hewitt said that if I wanted a really good time, I should try a Polo Match".

"OMG, its Andrew! Callista! Caroline! Hide in the boot, girls, until he's gone!"
