I'm just about to fit a new tank too when the weather warms up a bit. Could I get away with just fitting the old Voss (the smaller bit with the olive) into the bigger bit that came with the tank?

Air Tank

Hi

Thanks for all the advice.

A week back the "dreaded" yellow air suspension fault light came on.
Ran the diagnostics -the usual error about pressure rising too slowly.
I have Blackbox solutions diagnostics and watched to gallery pressure slowly rise to 1076 kpa then the compressor switched off - it had been running too long and had not reached operating pressure - I think its about 1700 kpa does anyone know for sure?

6 years ago I replaced the Hitachi compressor with an AMK a flashed the ECU with the AMK software.

Since then its only done 16000 miles so I thought an air leak more likely than a faulty compressor.

Spent most of this afternoon under the D3 with a soapy water spray and worked my way from the compressor to the air tank.

Right at the front of the air tank I get a load of bubbles so it looks like a new air tank.

Thanks for the link re-gallery pressures

1780 kpa max gallery pressure about 18 bar in the tank.

mine never got above 1076kpa and that took so long that the ECU shut the compressor off.

I just hope that all the overrunning of the compressor due to the leak in the air tank has not damaged the compressor.

I have read that the AMD software puts less stress on the compressor.

Decided to go for a genuine LR tank about £200
