I bet I know what that is!

The DVD drive has (needs) a speed MPH input (so it can keep up with where you are).
This is done via a green cable, which is plugged into a square connector under the drivers seat (near the door)
I probably mentioned it above.

There is a test display you can get into with the display.

From memory.
Goto the front menu
On the top bar in the middle, hold your finder on the screen for at least 3 seconds.
Then hold the left nav hard key (about 3 secs) until a keypad appears.
enter 753 and press enter.

(If you can't get it, there are loads of youtube videos showing you how)

Can't remember how the D3 one works.
But the D4 one has 2 speed values in there. One calculate from GPS, and other from the green wire.
So you then drive, and the speed values should move and be similar.

On D3, you goto vehicle signals.
Then the second line down is the car speed.
I expect if you drive, this 0 won't change

well you need to ensure the green wire is connected up.

From the kick panel, to under the drivers seat, and into the DVD unit on pass side.

Check the green wire is joined in the kick panel
Check the square connector with red/blue//green wires under the driver seat is plugged in.

I dunno then.

See them youtube videos and see if you have plenty of satellites showing. Can't really help though.

Regarding your mates phone, he is missing the red and green phone buttons on the steering wheel which is a problem!
The wiring should plug in under the cigar lighter and into the back of the radio.

What’s car player?

Dunno about the phone book.
Don’t you press the right knob or something ? Maybe someone else can help you with that. I don’t have It.

Car player is on iPhone.
You hold the voice button and it links supposedly.

iPhones were barely a thing in 2005

You can’t do BT music with D3

You have to manually search for BT on the phone and pair with a code like 2121
The 2 boxes at the front have a different code
