Radiator guard, wheel carrier and cargo barrier for Australia

Hi all,
I've checked with Martin, and he says this is ok...

4x4intelligence can make available a radiator guard - in Australia only; it is constructed from heavy-grade aluminium, exceptionally strong, with a slightly different finish and construction, but a similar look to the Mantec guard that is available in the UK. It replaces the plastic moulding under the delicate nose Smile and retains access to the front recovery point.

See a pic at : http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/displayima...&pos=0
(and if someone wants to tell me how to post an image in this msg, I'd be happy to hear... Neutral )

Based on interest, the price may lower, but currently, the price would be AU$695.

Let me know if you're interested, and I'll see what we can organise. This is not a commitment to buy.

Note that we also have available a swing-away rear wheel carrier, and a rated cargo barrier for Disco 3.

cheers,

Simon

Radiator gard looks good but seriously look at a bull bar, the ARB one incorperates a stone gard for
the radiator, a lot more cost but for me it was worth it.

Rob,
I know - and one day for me - for the big Central Oz trip, it will probably mean a bull bar; but for now, I don't need to fend off roos and the like, and don't want the extra weight, but I didn't like the exposure to the radiator without something there in front...

cheers,

Simon

Hi Simon,

Where did you get the sill protectors from?

Cheers, Steve

Sill protectors came from an OS manufacturer - we can source those too - and we make the rear wheel carrier.

cheers,

Simon

radiator guard

I recently did the Simpson desert trip and after reading an article in a 4wd mag. where they lost their plastic guard during the crossing I removed mine once we got into the desert. Ploughing through the dunes I put a couple of cracks in the under side of the bumper and would have lost the guard for sure. I replaced it once we got back to dirt roads. The radiator guard mentioned or a bull bar is surely needed for off road conditions.

Thanks Jamo. Good to see so many Disco 3's around. Mine is S TdV6 with air susp. 2005. Only one problem recently with air bag light on which was loose connector? Otherwise a great vehicle with good performance and economy. 2400rpm at 160kph and best economy of 7.75ltr/100kph at constant 85kph. Simpson desert crossing was too easy compared with RR in 1982.
