D3 hard starting in mornings and if standing more than an hr

Help

Guys not sure what problem is.

D3 tdv6 s 2008
Use 50 pp diesel with 2 stroke ever since i bought it.

Bought at 179k now 194k
Dealer said they had it tested by LR and fault was cam sensor faulty.
Have cam sensor but never replaced.
New battery at time of purchase.

In morning Originally started within 3 cranks, but now sometimes 10 20 cranks and don't start.
And then Sometimes starts within 2 cranks in morning.

She runs fine no loss of power, slight rumble in morning, but within 3 seconds idles fine.
Not sure what problem is, not sure where to send to check.
White smoke when idling after start, and initial drive for first 1km or so, then fine rest of day. I let her idle for 10min or so just to get her warm.

Had battery on slow charge with benton charger for 3 days, but same thing as if not on charge.
What do i check or where can send for testing. Dealers want to charge R3-5k just for checking.

Vehicle serviced at dealers with full service history, i just take it to indie for intermediate oil service with liquid moly. Original service cycle is 24k i do oil service mid way.

Advise required.

Thanks
ED

Thats a thought, will have that checked to narrow it down.

Would amp meter test work, if glow plugs still in head?

Glow plugs could be the problem, but they are a Censored to get out whole. I think you can test them with a multimeter though.

Maybe replace the fuel filter too. Glow plugs should only be necessary when the engine is cold.

Being summer I would be surprised if the glow plugs are influencing the start so much.

Anyway, they can be checked by a DMM for continuity and correct resistance or an amp clamp to check the current draw.
