Possum spotters come standard with the Xenons. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Whack the hazzards on when jacking as i think this stops tbe compressor reacting

None of it works, AFAIK. In terms of the compressor itself, it won't run without the engine running anyway. Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

But the vehicle will self level when the engine isn't running won't it?MY15 D4 SDV6 HSE Corris Grey - Gone

Yes, but IIRC leaving a door open/hazards etc. doesn't actually stop it. Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

great thread, must have missed it all up until now, but read the thread from end to end. Love the mods you have made to it. I also have a black disco 3 so I can easily imagine what mine will look like now that you have done yours.
My motor has 107K on it, what is the recommended interval for changing the oil in the diffs? I have just had the auto gear box flush, but not thought about the diffs.
keep the thread going as its very interesting.

The fill in halogens tend to light up the tree tops very well (that's where possums are). Difficult to align with Xenon beam.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

I believe the official interval is 150k, which is stupidly optimistic. Given the choice, I'd say every 60-70k but in your position I'd just go for as soon as possible.Darren

Ford Explorer
Just back from hols in the States where I spent three weeks living with a Ford Explorer, which is as bland as a really bland thing. The exterior styling clearly reflects Ford's previous links with Land Rover:

The interior is all LCD screens and touch controls, which were horrible and fiddly:

Under there somewhere is what I think is a 3.5l V6 petrol, which returned about 20mpg (UK gallons) and wouldn't pull the proverbial skin off a rice pudding:

It wasn't even 4WD
I was glad to get back into my nine year old D3 at Gatwick, and I've even bought it a present

Fitted a new battery today - an Exide Premium from Tayna, of course.

I've been having some odd issues when the temperature is below about 5 degrees and a weak battery appeared to be the obvious cause. As the existing one looks to be the original, a new one seemed to be a good idea. Just need some cold weather now to test the theory.Darren
