Yes, about 10 seconds after I realised how difficult it was to fill the damn thing in fact, I saw a picture on here somewhere of somebody with what looked like a giant syringe, which seemed like a good idea. Will definitely sort something out before doing it all again, anyway.Darren

As someone who enjoys projects you may appreciate our solution to getting oils into diffs, 'box's etc.
We employed a small ex-fire extinguisher and fitted a tube to the outlet which has a syphon tube going to the bottom of the reservoir.
We then have an airline fitting into the gauge (from memory) orifice. It is then fitted with an 1/4 turn ball valve.
To fill box's etc you simply add the oil of choice to the reservoir, connect the airline and turn on (as gently as you like), the oil is then forced up the outlet tube into the 'box.
Works really well - I would take some pics but it is down south at the old mans in sunny south Cumbria!!

I did consider that approach as I have a pressurised garden sprayer that I used to use for diffs and boxes on previous Land Rovers. However, there didn't seem to be an easy way to dispense a measured amount without having a larger reservoir of oil, which I didn't have, and the need for the 'special' oil for the t'box meant it would need cleaning out between jobs.
Both oils are quite thin, and the volumes small, so I think that a nice large syringe will enable a measured amount to be sucked up and squeezed in without too much trouble.Darren

It will comfortably hold more than 1.5 litres too so spot on for the diffs/TF box. Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

I've been collecting the necessary materials (block of black nylon and a length of ali channel) but haven't had chance to put them together yet. The onset of dark winter evenings may give me the impetus...Darren
