the underside was totally clear all the wieght was on the suspension arms so the electronic witchcraft didn't think it was grounded. if it had gone into extended mode the tyres wouldn't have got more traction.

Hmmmm interesting Question I've been in deep ruts where the running boards, such as you have fitted, were bent up at such an angle, that the doors couldn't open, and I've not had a problem as you describe. Did you drop it to access mode to invoke extended mode, then put it into super extended mode? Also if you plan on doing this a lot, then I suggest you get some better tyres fitted. Thumbs Up

i've always thought that extended mode only kicks in when the suspension becomes unwieghted( if it sits on the running boards) i still had the full wieght of the vehicle on the four lower suspension arms so it wouldn't kick in. Or should i get this looked at?
oh and i'm seeing my local indy about tyres tomorow Thumbs Up think i'm going to go with grabber at's

I've just got a set of Cooper LTZs for £600- they have a better sidewall protection than the Grabbers- I split 2 on Whiterocks in February- the Coopers appear to carry the weight of the car better- whereas the Grabbers bulge and can split.
D4 HSE in Stornoway- love it. Jaguar XF, MG TF, D2 ES V8 and 2x TR7s for playing!

Gone- D3- a fortune spent and now a lovely car for it's new owner; D2 G4 replica- Tangiers Orange and survivor of 2 Pot Noodle Challenge's!
