The only pic of the event has the delica looking like a bystander while i'm dragging a disco 2 out of a mud hole. I'll post pics later when i'm back near a proper internet

What is a Delica? Is it one of those 4x4 people carriers?
Where on the Plain did you manage to get stuck?

A friend of mine has a Delica and they are quite capable off road, I think they are a Shogun running gear with the people carrier body on. Still I don't think I would admit to being recovered by one Cheers Ian

right then, the disco 2 decided to modify the footwells with 6 inches of muddy water. i reversed up to drag him out and managed to drop sideways into some ruts that were just deep enough to perfectly balance myself on all four lower suspension arms! the delica pulled me forward about a foot and i was free to rescue the other disco

That's right next to VA's crossing
That 'puddle' in front of the D2 is pretty rutted, I've seen tricked up defenders get stuck in there
Just beware, if you go back when it rains, that puddle gets pretty deep

the underside was totally clear all the wieght was on the suspension arms so the electronic witchcraft didn't think it was grounded. if it had gone into extended mode the tyres wouldn't have got more traction.
