I agree, in this instance the black arches together with the new "black lights" really set the vehicle off. Just (2 months) I got a D3, the best car I have driven, when we nip out to the shops we don't want to go back home really is a pleasure to drive/passenger.

I've the nudge bar and spots so a grill is pretty much hidden.
I like the orange in the headlights and I can't be bothered to remove it.

Sorted. Thumbs Up

Now for some more tarty bits.

Rest well old friend, your work is done.

After that everything was down hill. It was the shot that made me go out and buy one - in that colour and spec!

I sourced a more modern grille on the dutch ebay.. ..didn't know they are easily to get in the UK... ..this used one was half that price though... Mr. Green

Also got hold of some mirror covers. The guy I bought them from probably got a scare when he asked for them to be spray painted.. Rolling with laughter

I made a lot of mock-ups with paint, and finally thought it would look best to respray everything in the original colour LRC0753 , vienna green. .. ... Mr. Green ...

Strangely the silver of the original colour shines through...

Original :

After the treatment..

Still I think the original grille looks better. I am no designer, but I wonder why the model that
has this type of grille of-the-line looks so good.. Rolling Eyes

For the moment it has the black & silver badge, soon to be replaced by a green one 8)

Sliders now on, will get some photos at the weekend. Going to keep the tangoed headlights as I think it goes with the orange Disco stickers. I might even put the orange side repeaters back on Whistle

I think you might be right about the orange side repeaters. They'd match up better with the lights and sticker. Thumbs Up

I do prefer a bit of colour on a discovery.... they tend to look like a slab when everything is one colour :-p
