I currently have a D3 with Adaptive Xenons, and am on the hunt for a D4 HSE.
Do people who had adaptive Xenons (which were standard) notice any difference losing them on the D4? There seem to be not that many fitted with them as options on the later D4s.
I do think my headlights are really good, and really like them, but wonder if I would notice any difference by losing them? TDV6 HSE Lux (2014MY)

I had adaptive xenons on my sport and they were fantastic. Especially on the country roads in Scotland last month.I do miss them on my D4 (xs model with halogens), so much so that i can see me retrofitting them in the future

Don't have them on my D4 but have them on two other cars. Waste of money to my mind and I live rurally and am allowed out after dark. 2014MY Discovery

I guess the retrofit is simply fit the adaptive light unit then enable them diagnostically?
Sounds simple
I've got normal xenons at the mo, but am upgrading to MY14 lights. If the above is true, is the steering angle sensor already in play to allow the lights to turn?

I've got them in my basket for £499 each. Now I know there's no point in adaptive, it's time to click "buy"....

Lucero - won't you need a new grille and bumper if you are going to fit those MY2014 lights to a MY2012?

I have adaptive xenons on my D4 and like them very much. I live in a rural area and they are great along dark narrow lanes

I had them on my D3 HSE, but not my current or previous D4. Given a choice I'd have them, but life without is bearable. I only miss them on unlighted country lanes, when turning into fields or narrow drives etc. when you're not sure what might be lurking on the edges.
Wouldn't be a deal breaker though if the rest of the D4 was to my liking. Good luck
Ps you're one of the dying breed, still on their original D3. Soon it will only be Del. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE
