Your name is very fitting as that's what I was.
I know I should have said more or take it further, but I have lost the fight with my dealer that I don't really care now.
Plus I only tow light trailers, although the bike rack is a heavy beast. So I will settle for having a moan at the service.Andy

My D4 had its MOT today and they checked the towbar, though no comment or guidance. I will have to check to see if they added a sticker / supplement in the service book.D4 SDV6 HSE 11MY - Gone

Had mine inspected on Friday. No problems but now I MUST do this and I MUST do that, according to the new instructions. When I asked what would be LR's response should my detachable towbar fail in the future, all I got was a crinkly grin and silence.

Mine checked and a clean bill of health.
However..... the tow ball cannot be removed, it has seized on. The dealer did say that they could try and free it off, but if in doing so it gets damaged, it would be at my expense. Man with no D3 anymore, but cant leave the forum....how sad.
I would point out to them what the new handbook supplement says re removing it when not in use Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

Hi all,
Slightly different question but related to the comments of correct storage of the towbar.
Can someone with the factory fitted stowage kit (the polystyrene holder) please post a photo of the kit fitted.
I bought a new bar and stowage kit but think I may have fitted it incorrectly,( if that is possible) the portion of the towbar that fits into the vehicles crossbeam receiver when fitted into polystyrene holder hits the rear light cluster components / relays / earth stud housed within this stow locker.
I place a cloth between the towbar and the equipment.
Everytime I return the towbar (which is once I have finished towing the TA caravan) I find myself thinking 'this cannot be right'.
I will try and get a photo of my arrangement when the next opportunity arises with decent lighting conditions.
Any help would be gratefully received.

Well .... Hatfields Liverpool checked mine this morning , all ok.
They chucked on the ramps for a free health check , all came back ok, good tyre tread and brake disk depths. The form they gave me showed all green. I'm well cuffed seeing as it's 9 years old and 96000 on the clock.

Yes, mines pretty much the same in as much as I have to be careful around all the wiring there! Obviously something else that looked good on a drawing board/computer, but not in practice.
