I think that once this has finally been sorted out, there will be an awful lot more towbars/crossmembers replaced than first expected, and the total amount of vehicles affected was far, far higher than some people thought.

I think they were expecting a good few hundred maybe more ....which of course is still really nothing in the overall scheme of things 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Hopefully you will be able to find out the final figures once the service action has been completed, better still, are you able to obtain the figures and give an update every few months ?

I will endeavor to report back once they've sorted themselves out proper like 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I wonder if LR Dealerships are bringing in local qualified coded welders to replace a crossmember if required ?

If they don't deal with body in-house then it would go to the nearest JLR approved body shop ...just as if it had had a prang 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

New fixed towbar fitted as planned on Tuesday - I was told no new cross member needed.
Wife going back in today to have height of towbar raised as it's set too low for her horse trailer as fitted - and she is due to be towing tomorrow. Full marks to Simon at LR and (never thought I'd say this) to Taggarts at Darnley, Glasgow.
It was, as they in these parts, the talk of the steamie at Pony Club last night apparently - at least one other Disco driver with a detachable fitted is going to be calling Simon this morning.....

Has this service action been restarted yet or are they still waiting on the 10,000 new towbars and crossmembers being delivered ?

The Service Action relates to removable towbars rather than fixed but it would not be a bad idea to take it out and give it a clean and check over.
