discostick, this is one of the first modules from you.
no other lights on the module, just blue blinking and then stop.
it happeneds most after night, it didn't start this morning as well but started ok for other 3 times during day time when left for 2-3hrs.
how does it let me know if battery voltage is too low?
I left doors open but latch shut, I left bonnet open and bonnet RH latch shut where open/close sensor is to let the car think that everything is closed and locked the vehicle. I'll check voltage at the battery and at module wiring connector. I did installed extra connector in about 10cm from module if I need to remove it but wiring loom left in the car.
My car is LHD so battery in RH, FBH in same LH side. I wired red 12+ and ground- to FBH live, blue to headlight, ignition to headlight as well as mine is adaptive headlights and there's IGN wire for that. Everything wired very nice soldered, wires in black corrugated pipe, factory look, no hanging colored wires in engine bay
edit: orange to FBH as shown in instruction Discovery 3 TDV8 3.6 facelifted to MY14

Your right, i just looked and you were in fact The first person to buy one. You actually have my first prototype
There were some software changes between yours and the first batch i sold, i just looked through the log of changes and i have some ideas.
First though, do you have Xenon or Halogen lights? One guy on here had a problem with flickering Xenon lights, the flicker was giving the module false start / stop signals.
If you are confident your lights are all good, try this:
Change the DIP switch setting in the module to either:
45 minute setting. 1 = ON, 2 = ON
30 minute setting, 1 = OFF, 2 = ON.
I assume you have it set to temperature target, 1= ON, 2 = OFF ?
If this fixes the problem, then i know how to fix it for you.
Let me know

I think it would be obvious just looking at the lights.
It was a while ago but i think he had retro-fitted xenon....
I havent looked at how the wiring for the xenon is, it seems unlikely that a flickering would actually effect the voltage on the wire you are tapped into, it might of been the fact he had retro-fitted them somehow. Last i heard he switched back to halogen and it was working fine again.
If you dont see a flickering, i would change the switches in the module and see if that resolves it. New Engine - Fitted with body on...

I set dips to 30mins yesterday and this morning FBH started with 3rd button at first attempt. I left car still locked, untouched, engine didn't run as well and I will try to start it again in couple hrs.
Any ideas, discostick? Discovery 3 TDV8 3.6 facelifted to MY14

Hi discostick/James,
Are you still making these awesome bits of kit as I'd like one?? The disco 3 is playing up with the glow plugs and at a cost of £1800 potentially quoted in case they snap in the head I like to give one of these beauties a go
If you aren't selling them still do you have the docs on parts and how to build as happy to give it a go myself...?
Cheers

Hi James,
Sorry to be a pain as I'm sure your a busy fella but any updates on this?
I'm happy to give it a bash myself (been a little while without using the soldering iron but can try to buy the specified parts and follow your instructions or equally buy one of these from you if you have a spare one kicking about...
Just want to try and get one in place before the cold weather sets in and the missus kills me if stranded somewhere if she can't start it trust me my life won't be worth living
Thanks again mate...
Cheers
Bob
PS Please PM me your email if that works better to communicate
