Over the past few months or so, many insurers have been introducing "life style" rating. Some of the questions asked now we're not asked 12 months ago so existing policies may not be benefiting from the new rating structure.

A further change is the introduction of "enhancement". You will see when you apply on line for quotes that you accept that you will allow to be "checked" This checking takes into account such things as if your name appears on registers for the address you give, even down to a Google maps check to see if you do have off road parking. Length of residency in the house, length of ownership of the car can both make a difference. Incorrect spelling of names or leaving out middle names can influence acceptance and/or premium. Some credit history can be viewed and again the outcome may affect your premium. This means identical risks next door to each other can have very differing premiums. This could perhaps be one of the reasons you are now seeing such a reduction - you personally tick all the boxes as a "good" risk.

One word of warning, although at present it is said these credit checks don't affect your future credit worthless for finance purposes, they do show as an entry on your history with the credit referencing agencies. Who knows if in the future, should you make say 10 applications for a quote, an insurer may refuse because you are not a "stable" risk. Thumbs Up

Good Morning,

Unfortunately we cant help everyone. Make sure you check your policy wordings. Some of the companies mentioned in this thread view manufacturers optional extras as modifications and they would need to be declared to be covered.

If I can help at all with any queries please let me know.

Thanks
