I have heard this year it has remained closed and that it will not be reopening due to on going damage. It’s also on my door step too. I Can’t find any info from nptc either.

No, it’s definitely open. You can even see on YouTube with recent vids uploaded.

Well, I managed to test run the Trecastle > Llandovery Roman Road yesterday. What a fantastic route. The ruts are definitely deeper and the rock sections definitely steeper than the YouTube videos make them seem.
It seems a good route to do for the potential meet up for us all. The views are fantastic!

Really good, no issues really - there’s one section that had 2-3 branches sticking out towards the end of the lane - but I’d imagine someone with a chainsaw/saw will have cut them away by the time we visit.Defender 110 2.4 TDCi Utility Station Wagon.

I think a max of 5-6 ? As recommended by GLASS.
I would like to add that I am a novice and will happily listen to anyone more experienced. But I have driven the route.
So - Saturday 5th Sept? Trecastle > Llandovery Roman Road? Can do it both directions?
Weather so far is predicting a nice, dry day.
