Well, I would be escalating up the food chain at the dealer. Be pleasant but firm. You have spent a lot of money, and the DP should be getting the bus, not you.

Too right
Get onto LR cust service, i would want one of the staff cars at least and then some compensation for the inconvenience of not having your own.
Tend to be willing to give the odd freebie from the accessories catologue if you fancy anything or failing that get them to fill with fuel before they drop it back to you.
You pay for the customer service, use it

When mine was in overnight a few weeks ago I got a evoque to mess about with for two days. Apparently it was a top of the range dynamic that was the service managers car. Fun little car. Hated been taller than it when filling up with fuel!26 and on the 4th LR..

Hi everyone,
The Stop/Start saga continues as the local LR dealer have had the car for the past 17 days and they still cannot find out what is wrong with the car. They have been in touch with LR HQ and completed all the tested they have requested and they have swapped the Start/Start components with known ones that works and still no joy.
So after speaking to the technician he said they were going to try and use Webex (spelling could be wrong) which allows the LR Factory boys to connect directly to the car at the dealership in realtime. This seemed the last resort as they don't do this that often (so they said...). Has anyone heard of this? Does it sound genuine or are they just giving me some waffle while they figure out a plan?
My view if that if after this they still find no resolution then LR replace the car. Or if they don;'t do this by next Friday they replace the car. As they will have had the car 3.5 weeks by that point which is getting a tad ridiculous.

Webex (if it's the same thing they are referring to) is a web based meeting/conference call software tool (same as Citrix GoTo Meeting etc).
The only reason if the above is correct that they might use this, is that a remote technician can "take over" a laptop in the dealership (presumably the one hanging off your car doing the diagnostics).
If the above is right, I'd ask them to stop faffing around with remote software solutions and get a techie to drive to the dealership.
I stand to be corrected if its a different "webex"

Didn't think about it being a VTC/conference call software!! That could be it. Great so he is essentially Skyping the dealership... And there was me thinking it was some special LR tool to hook directly into the car.

Well providing its the same Webex (see webex.com) I'm referring to then yes, he's suggesting Skype type approach.
The only benefits this would provide would be to remote on to the laptop at the dealership and potentially view through the web cam at the dealership. Both a poor excuse for having the actually techie looking at the car in situ given the circumstances.

webex provides ability to take full control of remote machine upon consent from that remote host
so remote operator can pretty much do everything while someone is looking at the screen and can interfere momentarily if needed
use it on daily basis
still 17 days fecking about is a joke get them to replace the car so they can play with it for years

Just out of curiosity, picked up our D4 today and it has an eco button on the TR panel, when pressed that cancels the stop/start, those that don't like it can surely use that ?
I appreciate that doesn't solve your issue MN, but just a side observation.
