Did this once have a phone installed?
Hi all,
I have a 54 plate HSE and, out of curiousity, was wondering if it once had a phone fitted - there is a phone-looking button to the side of the radio and there appears to be two holes either side of the steering wheel; as if there may have once the necessary call/cancel etc. buttons present.
Cheers, Sam

Bluetooth was a cost option on very early D3’s - I ordered it when I ordered my SE in late 2004 and was then informed no longer an option, which was a bit of a pain. Not sure when it was a standard fit.
I also had the ‘No phone fitted’ message. Get an aftermarket kit.Now Golf GTI PP, 7 speed DSG.

As you have the 6 disc cd you can add a BT module, and switches, replaces the right hand switch pack, looks like you have voice command, left hand switch pack, so probably have a mic in the overhead light Altox GSM FBH controller thread

A bit , but during a clear-out of some old magazines, I found a D3 brochure that I picked up in December 2004 when I ordered my D3 - remember how excited I was - it didn't disappoint - loved that D3.Now Golf GTI PP, 7 speed DSG.

Any hints on where to get a BT Module, most cable and switches?
I have the same setup as Sam, but would like to have some bluetooth installed.

Hi,
Mine is an HSE and I wrongly assumed all D3 HSE also had adaptive headlights; I assume that was a cost option on the early ones too?
I have a Parrot MKi9200 from my old Navara to install but haven't sourced the correct SOT lead yet; there has been one recommended on here but it's the best part of £60 delivered - too much for a lead in my opinion. On that note, I have a HK Logic 7 sound system in mine which seems to baffle Halfords and Connect4 as that system apparently want available until 2007? - Mine should have the HK 'Premium' system??
Cheers, Sam

I think the specs on the early models where a bit vague If I recall correctly, on my SE I ordered Auto Box, the upgraded Sat Nav with voice activation (waste of money), 19" Wheels, Winter pack and Tints from the B post backwards, so basically an HSE spec apart from no sunroof and an inferior stereo.
On later (I think MY11 SE's), some of the above was standard?
I always thought all HSE's had adaptive lights as well? Now Golf GTI PP, 7 speed DSG.

Nope, my 2005 HSE V8 doesn't have adaptive lights.
