Whole bunch of questions.. |
|
Hi All,
Having been 'off-air' (and working off road) for about 9 months, I return to the site to find I've a lot of reading to do!
Being inherently lazy, I'd prefer not to have to read through all of the valuable tips about 'right-handed cross-threaded reverse sprung boulder bars' that are this weeks 'must have' for off-roading in the minds of some of the more adventurous members (god love-em).
So here goes on the questions that would help bring me up to speed fast...:
* Is there yet a central database for Tips/Tricks?
Particularly, I'm interested in what updates that good old LR have decided for the Sat Nav and the software since I decided to move a farm from Herefordshire to Lancashire from September last year.
Do we have a list of the codes (like the 1791 for Sat Nav on the old disks) to enable/show things - on this site?
Is it possible to have a single post with all of the latest updates, secret accesses and version codes?
That way when I go to my new local LR dealer (James Edwards (Brock) - near Garstang) - I can ask all the right questions...
* Has anyone any views on my new local LR dealer? James Edwards (Brock) - near Garstang - are they OK e.g. do they charge for s/w updates or should I take a longer drive for better service?
* What are the latest upgrades that are being done on 06MY D3's ?
* Have I missed much? (Perhaps the wrong question with 10forCash and Slimer about..)
Cheers,

Hi,
I am based not far from you, we eat now and then at the Green Man at Inglewhite, (good chips) Your question about dealers I personally go to Kendal, far cheaper,£100 on second service, saved pounds on extras to much to list including, 4 new pirelli scorpions.Friendly service.

Thanks for the tip Cherokee. Where do you go in Kendal?
The Green Man is a good pub, and indeed my local, but I'm not too much of a pub-hound.
Perhaps buy you a pint in there one night.
Can vouch for the food full-stop though. Excellent,
Regards,

Hi Mudplugger,
answer to your question, I use Kentdale Landrover, I dont think you will be disappointed, If it is warranty work
go to Brock it will save you the 40min journey. Kentdale is on the A6 as you leave Kendal telephone no 01539

Thanks.
I'll PM you for that drink - probably over the next 2 weeks - when the boss has decided what I'm doing!

Hi,
I'd second the note about Edwards at Brock.
Kentdale or Lakeland are a much better bet - although owned by the same group, Lakeland have a very good reputation in this forum and beyond.
The 'advertised' hourly rate is pretty high without any added value.
Cheers
