Service Indicator
Well my TDV6 SE (Oz Spec) has just started showing a service and is counting down each day from 24, currently on 21... so i'm guessing that not only does it go on mileage (and in Oz its 12k for service) but also the time between them. Mine is coming up 6 months old, with 5k on the clock.
I'd like to know why in the UK its 15,000 miles between service and 12,000 km here for the very same engine ?
Is the fuel here that bad compared to the UK ??

The fuel quality here is good if you don't use the supermarkets fuel all the time. Down your part of the world it is the same in the big companys, but the dust and hard conditions you can come across are the biggest reasons.

Just booked mine in for next week (now at 15,200).
Back at the dealer that I bought the vehicle from, so they are going to look into the 3 outstanding issues I have got - unlike the other dealer they are pre-arranging the curtousy car (see other thread if you really want know that tail).
Things they are looking at :_
1/ Low Coolant Level - there all the time now
2/ In-car heating - I can't get it to get hot inside the vehicle, even on highest temp setting

Service intervals are calculated on probable road conditions in different areas. The D3 owners manual suggests different service intervals for normal, medium and extreme conditions. The 12000km interval seems to be the middle range, which I reckon is about right for average NZ conditions.Near enough 40 degrees South!!!

Can someone just enlighten me, incase I have got it wrong.
... If you do set the dials to 28+ and turn the fans on... Is should get well hot in the vehicle shouldn't it. I mean, if it doesn't it would be a bit naff taking it anywhere cold. It should providing you are not in the Sahara where it is over 28C

Heaters are based on norms. 28C t the human is a bit warm, so you would need coolling, not warming, correct.

Only if the interior temperature is over 28 degs. The dial works like the thermostat in your home.
