Serviced mine yesterday, thanks Robbie Bow down

Make sure the two stub coolant pipes are seated flush before screwing down the metal plate otherwise you'll get a leak and have to take it off again Big Cry

Primed ok, tested got the E7 code but still works when I use the 3rd button on key fob (have a home-made fbh controller, though not made by me).

Frosty this morning and happy its all working again. Smile

how does the fbh draw its fuel, is it pumped from the tank or sucked by the the fbh. Mine has gone down and I'm suspicious its fuel related.
Webasto controler fitted disconnected from can-bus
Several 20 minutes Fuse removal reset tried.
Ticking sound for approx 10 seconds coming from fbh when engaged but no smoke.

Ps. I've just found myself a page on the forum with mention of a solonoid plunger pump under the car drivers seat side. When it gets back home I will take a look.

One thing to add (a cautionary Tale)

and One Question (by way of Clarity that may help others)

BEWARE - The 12v Plug... If you do not apply pressure in the right way ie leaver down it may do this!
The plug housing/leverage point on mine was broken and I thought that I had actually un-clipped it... I hadn't!

The Next one is a QUESTION:
I know the ceramic is split at the bottom of the glow-plug..
Does this make the whole thing non-operational?
Can you buy a replacement OR a replacement Chamber?

FBH part number LR066870

Hi to everyone
First of all thanks to Robbie for his dedicated time of making this step by step guide

I've read all the post and I've identified the thread, as my FBH start remotely with a remote control and after 2/4 minutes it stops .

As LR dealer diagnostics it simple, this one is broken and you need a new one at 1000 euros plus taxes and of course plus labour of getting out and getting in the new one.

But I wasn't sure confidence of that and once again the answer is in this beloved forum.

My questions is :

I own a D4 2010 with the FBH Webasto part number LR066870, so is the same model for the serving guide described by Robbie?

Since my FBH have remote control, and once I do the cleaning describe above, I need to reprogram the remote control ?

With my FBH pull out can the D4 runs without that or the vehicle must stay stop until the job is done ?

Once again thanks to all of you for your bellowed answers to my questions

Best regards
Rui Melo

The guide is the same for your heater

You don’t need to re program anything after

If you buy the 90 degree joiner as said in this post somewhere you can join the water pipes and run he vehicle without the heater fitted as long as you remove the fuse and blank the fuel pipe off.

Pete.
IID, webasto software and workshop facility's available.

Faulty PCB

Just thought I would chime in with another failure mode.

My FBH would not start, and WTT told me the issues was "glow plug / flame monitor has short circuit to ground". I swapped out the glow plug for a know good one, which changed nothing. Then the circulation pump, as the internet said it might be a good idea.

Finally I swapped the PCB - which cured it!

Post service coolant leak

Tore down and serviced my fbh yesterday thanks to Robbie's fantastic instructions. It was very full of soot; don't think it had been looked at since new in 2006!

Put it all back together, reinstalled it and ran the webasto program to prime it and run it which all worked lovely! Burning beautifully and clean now.

BUT (!)

Noticed some coolant leak from where to two halves split.

I did not see Robbie give any torque values for the three bolts that hold the two sides together; can anyone advise? I made sure the new gasket was seated ok afaik...

Might there be any other reason for the leak?
