D3 Pass the Parcel (well Trailer actually)

Hi All,

Is there anyone who may be near Doc Diesel's neck of the woods who may be coming south of the border?

I'm trying to get his trailer down through the courier service if possible, Ideally via someone going to the Wilstshire event on the 16th, or perhaps to the Tong event on 30th to pass on to a kind soul coming south.
Or else anyone coming down the M6 who doesn't mind being speed impeded by a small trailer on the back.

If service station meet up,then of course a compulsory cup of coffee & a Ginsters would be provided Wink.

Doc is just south of Glasgow

Any and all help as always appreciated.

regards

Ian

Bods - if its any use i am at Tong on the 30th and can bring it back to our respective neck of the woods.

How do we stand with number plates etc? i.e. will the boys in blue be concerned with a D3 towing a trailer potentially without a number plate? Don't need any more trouble this week Whistle

Bodsy Mrs DSL will be trucking down the M74/M6 sometime in couple of weeks time but unfortunately doesn't have a tow hitch.

Thanks Rogue, I can get some blank plates & put the reg on as a temporary solution that could keep the rozzers happy. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Let's see if we can get it there.

DSL, I can post up my towbar, but I guess you won't have electrics to connect?

No promises, but there's a very slim chance I might be going to Glasgow on Tue 25th Sept.
Also going to Tong on 30th.
Got Towbar & Electrics, also spare rear Number plate.
However it all depends on appointment confirmations nearer the time.
Meantime you could always 'pencil me in', whilst you try to get something more secure!

A key point to think on is the 'what if's':
What if someone, gets a puncture, damages it, nicks it etc whilst in their custody?
...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Thanks Ron, that could work a treat.

Re the What-ifs,

Puncture - there is a spare wheel on the trailer.
Damages it - It's a risk, but I think it's safe to assume that it wouldn't be deliberate & people wouldn't want to damage their own D3's. It's not a courier service with insurance and I would accept the risk on this basis.
Damage to own D3's woiuld have to be down to individual person as any normal driving is.
Nicks it - It comes with some lock(s) so should be secured. In the rare but unlikely event of it being stolen, I would have to decide on whether to claim off of my household insurance or not. If Stolen, I would ask that whoever was handling it at the time, to make a formal police notification to obtain a crime number.

Hope that covers the valid points Ron. Thumbs Up

Buckingham, Thanks for that, I'll keep it in mind. My problem for that one, is that I'll be in Amsterdam til Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon of that weekend, unless anyone else midlands way could meet up & then I'd collect late on the Sunday? (now I'm really taking the P1$$ aren't I!) but any takers...?
