Could it possibly be that one or other has full surround and the others not LT? In my experience the one with just a rear camera were fine, the ones with full surround camera system were crap on MY14>.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

MY14 has pretty much done this from the get go. I'm used to turning the knobs (no dual!) between 21 and 24 to ride the temp. Whereas the previous Honda was left on 22 permanently.
I put it down to "that's just how it is", but a fix would be nice.
My money is on over-sensitive sunlight detector.

I have an issue with mine. All over the place, I'm far too young (and male) for all those temperature issues!!
I had the dash to pieces a few weeks ago to look at installing a reversing camera... I saw this...! I'm not entirely sure what it does but I'm pretty sure it senses the cabin temp? The pipe runs from the £1.00 coin storage rack* down in to the tunnel.
Not sure what to do next. Don't really want to let slip to the stealers that I've had the dash in 100 pieces!!
*I know it isn't for £1.00 coins.26 and on the 4th LR..

That would explain it. The "coinslot" is where the cabin temp sensor used to sit on t he D3s. If on the D4 the pipe is used to suck air to a sensor elsewhere and isn't free flowing then it cant suck in air from the cabin to sense.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Would be interesting to see if any other MY15/16 are assembled with the same kink in it? It is pretty much flat.
I'd say it is less than 10mins to get to the point where you can see this pipe.
Plus 2 clips 26 and on the 4th LR..

If that were the problem (and I'm not saying it isn't), I wonder why it's only MY 15 on, the dash is the same from MY 12 on, at least visually from the outside. Did they change a process or something?Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Finally got mine in to my dealer yet again and this time they seemed to accept there was a problem. After demonstrating to them with my own thermometer the heating issues they took it in for two and a half days. When I picked it up I was told that the flap mechanisms in the HVAC system had been recalibrated and it was now OK. I was somewhat sceptical but to my surprise it appears to have been fixed. I drove it 130 miles yesterday on a warm sunny day and back again in the dark and rain during both journeys the system worked normally.
Surprised to get an E mail from Ryan saying that no fault had been found in the system.??
I hope this is the end of the saga! It has been really hard work to get JLR and the dealers to recognise that any fault exists.

I had a similar issue in a BMW and when they recalibrated the flap mechanisms it was corrected. Is this something that the IID can do?

I'm not surprised - it seems to me that LRCS is more there to bat away the crap from hitting the fan and protect the company from having to do anything costing money rather than providing real value.
Sorry if that seems too cynical but, bearing in mind the level of detail people on here go to provide evidence and diagnostic information to LR in the analysis of these issues, the general silence or inclination to nullify an issue rather than admit it and actually be helpful is palpable.
I thought they were great until I had a real problem for them to deal with - friendly? amenable? yes. But pushing past that I found the ruse soon gives way to it just being a teflon coating around JLR.MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)
