Landmark coming soon!
Hello all!
First post on the forum, looking forward to sharing help and advice with you guys. Have previously been very active in Porsche forums and love the online community thing.
So have a new Landmark on order for delivery 1st or 2nd week of May and very excited. I ordered totally blind, the only LR I have every driven is a Defender at Eastnor when a friend passed on their experience to me as they didn't want it (crazy).
I took the plunge without a test drive nor having even sat in a Disco;
Disco Landmark
Waitomo Grey
Vision Assist Pack
Privacy Glass
Fixed Side Steps
Rubber Mats (3 young kids!)
Stainless Steel Rear Bumper Treadplate
Was passing a LR dealership yesterday and popped in to actually have a look at the car I have ordered and my god was I impressed. No photo of the interior can do the spec justice at all, beyond excited now.
I think I read somewhere on here a list of common faults/niggles that you can get with the Disco. Is there anything I should be checking on handover?
I hope I haven't missed off any important spec, I took the view they are pretty much Christmas tree spec out of the box so only added a few bits.

Mud flaps front and rear would go well and side rubbing strips with the bright insert helps break up the doors as well as protecting them
Both of the above are dealer/DIY items to fit."UNDERSTEER" ---is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" -is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" ------------is how far you take the fence with you.

Why
The doors are huge and IMO need something to break them up from top to bottom - especially the Waitomo Grey "UNDERSTEER" ---is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" -is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" ------------is how far you take the fence with you.

I think this includes the surround cameras. Check the forum thread on this. Many people report the quality of the cameras on current cars is very poor. What makes it worse is the standard reversing camera is fine but if you add the surround cameras, this also turns out rubbish.
At the very least, I suggest you try a current model with surround cameras. Lots have been caught out by test driving a slightly older car which seems to have better surround cameras.

Thanks for all your tips guys, arrived today!!!!!
Very pleased, love it.
Quick question, it came with 2 seats of headphones for the rear entertainment. I have 3 kids and don't want to start world war 3!
Can I purchase a third set - or even better is there a non-official set that would work - anyone else done this?

Awesome! I collect mine in 70 hours and am very excited.
Did you get the surround cameras?
Can't help with the extra set of headphones question as although I also have 3 kids, I prevented WW3 by getting the Graphite which has no rear screens.

Yes surround cameras. Rear one is fine but then I haven't seen one without surround and in fact never had a rear camera before so no benchmark. Front ones are poor to be fair but handy to have as I have to pull out every day inch by inch into oncoming traffic with limited view so we'll see.

I'm going to post up a new thread about the headphones so the question is more obvious!
