Did mine from rear footwell after raising seat and sliding it all the way forward, no way past that bit of trim on front (what a crap design)

This from the LR Navugation System manual;

note: It is necessary to raise the left-hand seat to its highest setting then power the seat forward to its foremost position before accessing the navigation DVD unit.

Reach under it, you don't need to pull that front trim off, I put a new disc in just this week.

Might be the "right" way, but that doesn't mean it's the easiest or quickest way, I reckon by the time you have raised the seat and moved it forward I can have the job done.

Maybe but it took me no time at all, in fact I replaced the unit itself a couple of years back and I've never pulled that front trim off.

Hi Pete, the installation was exactly the same on my 2008 HSE...... Eventually I worked out that the actual unit can be unbolted from its mounting bracket, the cables were then long enough to turn the unit around so as it could be reinstalled with the DVD slot facing into the rear footwell...... Then removing the DVD in the future is simples!
 Best Regards,
Dave.

No need to remove the kick plate unless you are doing a Popeye impression and can't get your hand under it with the seat raised to the maximum! Changed my disk today in about 15 seconds without taking anything apart....

I don't think it matters which position the seat is in, its just the seat pad that moves, not the kick plate thing.
Now i've done it i should be able to use the 'force' and feel my way around under there. Thumbs Up
