Chris,
Lovely D3, I had similar hankerings, I always fancied a D3 for the shooting side of things to help preserve the RR.
I too bought an 08 plate, and am really pleased with it. Weirdly no one seems to care to comment much on it. Hey ho, I'll just crack on regardless!
Looking forward to seeing some interior shots of yours.
Cheers
Adam
Ps: sorry I didn't buy your RR!
People read but not many comment is my guess! I noticed you commented on your thread about talking to yourself, I often feel like that with my thread ( http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic122531.html ) but I'm doing it mainly for myself so I can look back at my progress over the years, not so much to gain comments!
However, Edfors on the D2Boys site is inundated with comments! Different people, different sites I guess!

Hey Chris,
We just eyeballed each other across a crowded M6 near the M56. Spotted your D3 a mile away!

I thought that might have been you, I was admiring the black grille and badging!
I'm trying to get to Carlisle. Think I may be sat here a while...

Chris, a common issue in my limited experience. Have had it on the D3 and D4. Cause was pads sticking in carrier. Clean and copper grease fixed it. Richard

Project G4 Update
Hi All,
Some updates from me as I haven't really posted on here since I bought it. Here's a glimpse of what I've been up to...
Took it green laning in the Lake District:

Wired in a Blackvue front and rear facing dash camera:
Fitted a DISCO3 sticker:
Got it professionally detailed (WOW):

Took it off road with some Defender friends (and kept up):
Back to the car wash where it was detailed only two days earlier... Oh dear - looks like one of those nasty rocks caught my alloy...

Replaced the curved silver centre console trim with the 'two piece' effect piano black square trim from the later 09MY D3s:
Restored it to competition spec - took weeks to get a hold of the graphics and perfect the design but finally all the original G4 Challenge decals have been installed and she's been returned to her former glory 8) :

And finally, took her to my local indy for a comprehensive health checkup and was told that the following will need done at some point:
1. Fluctuating revs under load - may just need a transmission flush
2. Transmission fault (reduced traction) - replace rear diff motor
3. Alternator starting to whine - will need replaced at some point
4. Front to rear brake pipes quite corroded - need replaced before next MOT

And that's you up to date.
Got to say, this is my third Land Rover and I've fallen in love with this one. There's something special about the D3 and the G4 combination. It's more than just a car - it's a phenomenal piece of kit. It goes without saying that I'm delighted with my purchase.
