You have a good memory Martin, I forgot all about that. Must be an age related thing.

I enquired about a front no. plate plinth ages ago, and the dealer told me it wouldn't fit an '06 MY front bumper ...... he thought it was a different shape / profile, I left it at that, but have to say I wasn't convinced. Nick, would you mind checking if they were right or not. (as this may be on my next parts list). Thanks.

Well, on mine it means the only bit of the car that touches the wall when I park on my front is the number plate

Just bought one of these plinth things and have a stupid question.
How do you fit it?
The number plate is simply stuck to the bumper at present but the plinth has 5 mounting holes.
I can't see any corresponding holes behind the plate. Does the plinth simply 'self tap' to the bumper cover or are there some threaded bolt holes there somewhere?

Can someone give me the width of the plinth?
This might solve a problem I have as the 'muppets' at Williams in Manchester put my front plate on off centre as it could cover up the screw holes!

It's bigger than the number plate so it will cover up the muppets holes ....
the ones on the d3 that is!!
55 x 14
Mine has been moved from the bumper to the 'A' Frame....... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Yes - self tappers straight into the bumper... and then self tappers through the reg plate into the plinthSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
