I get a similar effect on mine on the fronts. The near side one is worse. I had it fully aligned with a Hawkeye Elite TD last year and it still wears the near side more. I put it down to a full lock to the right to exit my drive 2 or three times a day.
Similar story to mine, although probably in early stages
4 x Wintrac 4 Extremes, date coded 4211 so about 5 years old now, bought new October 2012, only ever been used October to March, so probably have about 3 Winters at 6k each so 18k in total
Tread depth about 4-5-4mm
Not sure what to do now, obviously nearing the end of their life, but see if I can get one more winter out of them ? - certainly with low mileage car not worth running Summer & Winter tyres ...........

Mine exhibited this after a track rod end was changed.
Wintracs with about 4mm but elderly. The car was aligned twice and all within tolerance.
I think it is just a symptom of the end of life of Wintrac 4's
At 4mm and 4 years, they are pretty well near the end of their life for a winter tyre, as they age they go hard so you lose the benefit of grip of the higher silicone content rubber and 4mm is not enough to allow a buildup of snow to aid grip or prevent aquaplaning in slush
I think mine are due for replacement, but as mine are on 5mm, I am going to run for one more winter and then look for a combined tyre for Winter & Summer, Duratrac or AT3
