If I were wanting to transport pallets, think I'd be using a truck or a courier TBH.
As for the warranty thing, it's luck, just ask Del, he seems to be responsible for Warranty Directs low share price.
Hey for some Ford has snob value over Fiat, marks and Spencer over Farmsfoods. It's all relative.
As for the Satnav, I can't explain your satisfaction with it, it defies logic and yes, Horoscopes and Cartoons would be handy.
Bet your the sort of guy that keeps people late at Friday afternoon meetings when everyone wants to go home.
Pallets....you ever bought a washing machine or dishwasher recently ? they come on a pallet...my opportunity was a deal on three Fisher & Paykel dish-drawers (one for us two for family).....so the three bits of 600 x 600 white goods was an exception.....had to be done as SWMBO'd got a bargain
Yes I could have hired a van but considering these were collected in Norwich & went to Belfast & Roscommon & Dublin you can see my point. You dont need or have to hire a van if you have a D3/4.
If your satisfied with a smaller Disco OK with me - go buy a DiscoSportlander, putting the Disco model name on a vehicle doesn't make it anywhere near the same.
It to me harps back to the last century when Mini (Austin or Morris) became a Leyland then a Rover badge engineering at its worst.
I dont see that much of a difference between Ford & Fiat...& you could put GM Vauxhall Citroen & Peugeot in there too.
Sat Nav...mines worked & still does work OK Im not easily dissatisfied & dont see the point of buying a gadget when I have an integrated system fitted - i done form my opinions from the words of others - I base mine on what I see & the values I aspire to.
The Stone thing is: at work I'm totally involved with making (huge) changes to a whole stone cutting process plant, machinery selection, testing, installation..... conformance with regulations is my working role (very stringent with PUWER & the RCS dust aspects)
....dont work Friday PM all the havoc usually caused Thursday at 1230 thats when we have the bring the issue to the table meetings.BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

I get the whole pricing thing for Range Rovers, their main customers want to pay shed loads of dosh because it raises the whole status thing... but who thinks you'll be able to get a D5 for less than £55k? Maybe a four pot... but if you want a smooth one with a few toys, I recon it's got to be close to £70k. For a disco!!!
Maybe I'm wrong and you'll get a nice one for £50,000 - which is where it should be placed in the market. We'll all know in October.

I genuinely can't see them upping the price that much, I also think everyone is worrying to much about the price, i just cant see them being that silly by upping the base price by around 10k and also making the top of the range into the 70's, it would be crazy to do so.

The Fl2 to DS was £5k increase, so I expect the same with the D5.
I won't pay anywhere near £50k for an entry level Disco, there is better for less, especially now it's lost it's practical shape it makes other brands look more attractive.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

It's much worse than that if you consider the eye watering rise in the entry level price of both the FL2 and the D4 during the last year of each car's production 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as “second” cars 🙄

Could someone be having a laugh there? I can't believe that a manufacturer would seriously go to the trouble of covering the rear wheel in camoflage 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Any business that wants to stay in business will do their market research and look at the competition. Question is who do they consider worthy competition for the D5? Volvo, Audi and bmw presumably? in which case it needs to start at 50k. I think it will top out much higher and we will see the lux equivalent £70-75k and then the SVO and hybrids Over £80k.
They may do the luxury even higher to bring in appeal to the Range Rover people who aren't happy with the space.MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

It'll be interesting to see what a 6 cylinder D5 equivalent to an SE is going to cost... I'm guessing a lot more than £5k over what you paid. Any advance on 10 more ???

Knowing LR, and I used to work for them, an arm and a leg and probably the odd kidney too.
Unfortunately it seems that LR at present is just following the money (Chelsea tractor brigade) which seems to naturally distance them from their loyal and numerous customer base.
I've had 16x discoverys and by far the best has been my D4 (even though the tracker constantly calls home stating its been stolen!!!). I hope this isn't my last, because they price the D5 outside my price range. I've always had HSE spec but it would seem they're intent in pushing the vehicle even higher when I my opinion it's perfectly positioned where it is.
I hope I'm proven wrong, and like others also hope the internal dimensions are still very much box shaped. I'm a diver/camper and have two huge dogs, so need all the usable space possible.
