I love my D4 but I can't wait to own 'the next generation' one day, as long as Prospeed work out a roof rack for it and there's somewhere for me to install my 2nd battery
I am keeping the faith that JLR have engineered another awesome machine for more modern times and beyond.
As long as I can control Spotify from the touch screen I'll be happy D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

Had D3/4's for last 10 years. Im a complete geek at heart and normally a first adopter but just haven't found anything comparable to the D4 to replace it with. Its got to the stage the platforms so old i consider it retro cool now 8) We (the ones that bought the last gen D4s) are like those people spending a fortune on none smart phones that you can only make calls on
So looking forward to getting onto a newer platform with better technology and hopefully a hybrid one day.MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

Thing is they had a captive geek market, namely the Def. and abandoned it. welcome to suburbia.

I'm just disappointed that with this model all Landrovers will look pretty much the same. I just wish they would go back to the old days in the 60s, 70s and 80s when all Landrovers each had their own distinctive style. oh... hang on....

Very good point, no good saying landrover have lost their design mojo and every things looking the same its their design approach if history dictates: Series > Series II > Series III most people can hardly tell the difference and then the 90 & 110 and now the Discovery Sport and Discovery 5
I guess the only consideration is how close landrover sail the D5 to RR Brand territory as looks wise it could quite easily be badged a Range Rover if they dropped the roof rails.MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

When we recently took my wife’s Defender in for a service at our local Land Rover Dealership, I took a walk around the showroom. If one did not know where the Land Rover heritage had come from, you’d have no idea that these new “cars” had any off road capability. Judging from the showroom they are clearly moving into the prestige market, and trying to leave the “Defender” off road “stigma” behind.

ISTR reading all these degrading remarks before, about 12 years ago when the D3 was released O ye of little faith. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Hmm...marriage between the RRS 2 and the Disco sport. The rear overhang suggests a bit more room in the back than is present in the current L494 RRS 2 which is short on space once 2 dogs are in situ. The D4 had so much room....
Width presumably narrower than the RRS. Roof rails add to streamlined effect.
Looks quite smart in what is presumably Firenze red with privacy.
I have a deposit down for either a D5 or replacement RRS for delivery March 2017. If this comes with dynamic mode, which is highly likely, and a more potent engine than the 3.0 litre SDV6, then this could be my replacement.
Rear end looks tidier than RRS2. Will it have a full pano sliding roof?

Best idea yet stick L/R badges on it and bigger wheels and probably at least £20k cheaper might work ?
