I the huge single tailgate to give shelter from the greater rainfall that JLR predict? They could have got it right in the long run (as opposed to School Run).A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

Now that just caps it ...... now the hell does McGovern and his 'design' army get away with this abolition of the Discovery.
Where is the design element (he skilfully employed in the D3) in this 'new' vehicle ..... it's just a DS, but a bit bigger.
A 10 year old could've come up with something better.
Thank goodness I'm not in the market for a new one. ...... always on the road less travelled π§

By the time Gerry McGovern joined Land Rover, in April 2004, all the grown ups' work had been done. He had nothing to do with the D3. Fortunately!
Explaining why he returned to LR in April 2004, McGovern said "Land Rover fascinates me more than any other car maker because it has its roots in pure design as opposed to styling."

Sadly LR have gone the way of all manufactures. Producing generic, run of the mill, bland and predictable cars.
Look at Nissan. the pathfinder and xtrail were also "iconic" shapes. Look at the new models of both and tell them apart from each other and from a qashqai.
It seems that car designers just can't be bothered any more and simply just stretch a picture of an existing model in Photoshop and say " that'll do"
Fook me! Scoop is right DG. That tailgate could scope up a fookin' mountain! I hope that's a prank photoshop picture LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Well if the struts can't hold the tailgate up properly it's back to the old Rover SD1 trick pickaxe handle fits the bill and will be a accessory option

And, in turn, Ford, Toyota and Fiat sold a great deal more than that...

I've not been put off the D5 yet, that will come with the prices
I'm in no rush to buy, I've already thought about pulling my deposit but my salesman persuaded me to at least keep it in place until I see the car in the flesh and prices are announced.
This week so far this week the Disco has been
*Parked up with Solihulls finest at Gleneagles on Monday
*Minibus on Tuesday
*Loaded up with coving on Wednesday
The boot is still full of sand after taking the dog to the beach on Sunday, there isn't much cars on the road that can turn its hand to so many things.
I don't use it off road a lot, though it does get its wheels dirty from time to time, so if the new one can do much of what my current ones it should do me.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

My point is Gerry McGovern ain't going to give two flying 's what anyone thinks ...the proof is in the sales and no doubt the new D5 will fly off the shelves 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I'm tempted to pull my deposit after seeing this, has anybody at LR actually thought this through. You'll need a notice on the rear window advising not to park within 2m of the rear of the vehicle, otherwise if you were anywhere near the vehicle behind when you open it you'd need to run for the pavement to avoid being knocked onto the bonnet of the vehicle behind! There are 10 types of people in this world ~ those that understand binary and those that don't.
