Kiders I appreciate you may wish to assist others but this kind of information is not appropriate on public forum for reasons of vehicle security. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I'm confused there are the same sort of topics un restricted on discovery 3 amongst others? In this day and age people are going to do what ever they want regardless to some forum info. At the end of the day it would help people who are stuck and in need of help. If the car is locked the alarm will sound, if some one is looking to get into your bonnet whey make a pigs ear of it and do it my way they could just break the window and pull the catch?
I think it's unfair to restrict it because I'm new I'm just trying to help people who might be in this situation.the fact that my instructions are quick and cause no damage should be welcomed

It has nothing to do with you being new and everything to do with the forum not advising would be thieves how to open a Discovery bonnet from the outside.
If you can't understand that, this place really won't be for you. Mods:

Those will probably be edited by the mod team now you've pointed them out.
As owners, you have to admit we have a responsibility to not assist would be clowns who, looking to steal a Discovery, come on here hoping to find info that will help them achieve their aims.
There are a number of different issues that must be, well, carefully moderated.
Try searching how to remove a tow bar without the key, you won't find the info here for exactly the same reasons your post was removed / edited. Mods:

I understand I really do but like I said the alarm would sound either way where it be smashing the window or doing it my way which would only take a lot longer. If you put it into Google it comes up on many forums but just not with regards to a discovery 4 so I thought as I look on your site a lot for info that in turn I would join and make my 1st post a helpful one
Im a very helpfull knowledgeable person and I like to help where I can and that was all I was trying to do. I think if people are going to get offended by my advice then at least be well informed and see who else is offering this sort of advice before they take offence by it especially if they them self's are offering it in other posts

I'm sure if the mod team thought you weren't trying to be helpful, they'd have removed your account. They didn't because they accept first time posters might not be fully aware of the forum rules and codes regarding posting.
Don't beat yourself up mate, it happens, even some long time posters occasionally get moderated.
There's a responsibility here to prevent giving advice that will help a thief, those same principles may not apply elsewhere, but here, they do which is why posts which give that sort of advice end up getting removed.
This place is an owners reference point, and with that comes responsibility, that's the way it is. Mods:

Kiders ...as explained by Narpy, the mod team is alerted by reports of concern from the forum users ...and now it's been pointed out the other thread has been addressed also. It's nothing personal.
It's correct to say that the information is available elsewhere on the interweb but site users here have overwhelming indicated in the past that such information should not be promoted on this forum. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
