If that platform folds down as it would appear, how does it move out of the way to ease access to the boot? If that's the extent of the activity platform, then it won't stick out far, which perhaps answers the first question, but if that's it, it seems to be the worst of both worlds. It looks more spacious inside than I though it would be.
Small runners by the looks of it or perhaps can be flipped right over into the boot, seems a bit clumsy either way.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green
Would probably be catching on umbrellas, dog-water bottles and more if it were the back of my Disco. Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

The boot doesn't look bad to be honest its loads better than I thought it would be. In the driving shots it looks a lot more boxy around the rear than comes across in the spy shots.MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

It would catch on the boot mat alone.
My boots very tidy, just a boot tidy full of junk, jackets, torches, tow ropes etc. Even once the dogs been in it gets cleaned straight away seat covers on all but the 3rd row which only get used a Christmas, which puts me in a bit of a situation. I spend most of the time in it on my own so a 5 seater will do but at Christmas and family events everyone jumps in the Disco. So do I splash out on a 7 seater or the more sensible 5 seater which probably won't have air suspension, which I would add and probably out weight the cost savings.
Think I've answered my own question.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

That my fellow depends on how thick the carpet is, I expect the carpet will be high end Axminster about 50mm deep. Much to the disgust of D1 owners. If it is as described I will happily throw my toys onto the floor knowing that the carpet will absorb the impact therefore saving my toys In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
